@thomaslhorrocks Anyone who reads the biography “Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom” by David W. Blight will clearly see that this is a horribly dishonest misrepresentation of Douglas’s thinking & life’s work.

I was saddened to learn of the death of Hilary Mantel. Her Thomas Cromwell trilogy, starting with “Wolf Hall,” is extraordinary. As one book critic put it, she was an expert in showing “what power reveals and conceals in human character.”

My pastor sits on the floor with the kids when he gives the children’s sermon and they discuss the message with him. It’s gold. Yesterday he said, “We have to practice not being mean.” And I thought what a word it was. We’ve gotten so mean. Kindness will take lots of practice.
