Black people should not have to be perfect to stay alive, be seen, and be loved. Black History Month is not just telling stories of how we have been “exceptional”. It is about embracing the fullness of our lives and creating a world where we are free to be human.

I was discipled by Don’t Waste Your Life, so I’m still untangling myself from the lie that faithfulness means pushing harder and producing more—often at great cost to my own body.
When we are discipled to do more, we are left feeling empty when we must choose to do less.
Faithfulness might look like fruitfulness in the places only those in your inner circle can see—the quiet choices to honor your body, the growth trust when things are hard.
You aren’t wasting your life if you are welcoming your humanity + that of others as worthy of great care.
