I get this take, but mcp does not exist solely to compensate for model deficiencies. At least not anymore. It’s an interactive integration layer where your app, the user and the agent can collaborate to meet the users needs. Elicitation, sampling and even completion provide interfaces between parties to accomplish the user’s objectives. Also mcp-apps allow apps to provide embedded, authentic in-app experiences to their users in the context of whatever agent they use to get work done. Maybe it’s not the ideal protocol, but there has to be some standard right?
