The County Government of Mombasa made an undertaking to cater for the bills of the family and the two. As HAKI Africa, we will continue to push for the right to health care for all persons irrespective of their financial status.

Besides the family, there were also two other persons who had completed their quarantine but were not in a position to pay and leave. We also managed to coordinate with the authorities and they were also released without paying anything.
The family completed the 14 days period. The bill had soared to a total of Kshs 474,000 and they were not in a position to pay. @HakiAfrica intervened and coordinated with @MombasaCountyKe Health Dept and Mvita MP until all the family members were released without paying a cent.
Release of Family of 17 Under Quarantine
HAKI Africa today received a complaint and followed up with the Kenya Medical Training Centre (KMTC), Port Reitz, where a family of 17 was being kept in quarantine. The 17 members included a 48 year old woman and a child of 8 months.

HAKI Africa together with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) today held a public inquiry on human atrocities committed at the Coast of Kenya. The inquiry was attended by over 1,000 people.
