@IsleLesbos Yes!!!! Femininity can be expressed however the hell you want to. It makes me sad to think womanhood is being reduced to a narrow band instead of expanding to be whatever a woman wants it to be.
@MsPinkBehavior It’s how I send all emails that go out to list serves. The only email addresses you can see are the people who will need to respond if people have questions. That’s usually me and maybe one other person. Problem solved!
@kellygrillo I hated it with my masters. Esp when they posted stuff that was way off base or showed their true feelings about kids. Prof chimes in with a “well done!” Um…no, not well done. They’re wrong and I don’t feel like it’s on the person paying to take the course to correct them.
@lifeatthenest I’d hate to have someone documenting my time off task at work. And rating me in 3 goal areas every 30 min. However I do make myself sticker charts to earn prizes I buy for myself when I do hard things or things I have no motivation to do :)
@rebeccarightnow The time is going to pass anyway. Spend it doing something you want to do! In 4 years will you look back and be bummed you didn’t use the time to get your degree? Go for it!
Helping 9th grader catch up on missing assignments and got curious. 8 classes, A/B schedule, and 246 graded assignments since the first day of school. Averages out to 3.75 grades per day. Curious if this seems like a normal high school workload.
@mcklynntozan@DianaUrban You’re essentially eating the AIP diet (just in case you weren’t aware). Tons of recipes online and wonderful books. It’s a game changer. Cleared up my autoimmune issue and I dropped 65 pounds without exercise when nothing else had worked for years.
@emilykmay My second daughter died at birth. I’m terrified of something happening to my living daughter. Absolutely terrified. My brain won’t stop thinking of all the awful things that could happen to her. I’m probably turning her into a hypochondriac because every little thing scares me.
@JosiahHawthorne Mine was empty for a few years & I decided to stop being mad & say something. I used to put in a few things I liked or leave it empty. He gets me gifts every year and shops for our daughter himself too. but didn’t do my stocking. He fills it every year since I mentioned it.
@heymrsbond ❤️ Can we also talk about the workload for HS? 8 classes a week to manage. Deadlines everywhere. A lot of what my kid’s asked to do isn’t worth a grade. They’re managing more classes than most college students. I don’t have 8 bosses to track in the “real world”.
@KaraSunburst @heymrsbond I get it but also then grades reflect ability to meet timelines and not mastery of the concept. How do we measure their skills if points are knocked off for being late? Sincerely asking my kid’s HS work is often late and as a teacher who doesn’t want to be buried in work.
@mpershan We’re implementing some new ideas. Currently bringing teachers to observe their peers teaching the literacy curriculum in the morning, then working with their colleagues, coaches & content specialists in the afternoon to discuss new ideas, plan, and prep. So far, well received.
@heymrsbond I’ll toss my hat in for elementary teachers who teach all the things to get more too. Our high school teachers get 90 min of prep during the school day 4x/wk & 60 min on early release days. Elementary gets 30 min/day 4x/wkTo plan and prep all the things, including intervention.
@sage_stage Mine cares a lot but is massively overwhelmed by the work load and learning to manage due dates, assignments, etc for 8 classes. So, when overwhelmed, the go-to is avoidance and anxiety. We sit down on the weekends and try to get caught up. It’s going to be a long 4 years.
