๐ฅน๐ Seeing this candid pic of me & #SanMateo City Clerk Patrice Olds put a huge smile on my face. Patrice is one of the best people I will ever know & Iโm grateful to have worked with her over the last 10+yrs during my time as a @smdailyjournal reporter & @CityofSanMateo staff
This was terrifying. Was on the beach when these kids were suddenly pulled out by a wave. Bystanders tried to help but the waves were just too strong. Absolutely heartbroken for this family.
NEW INFORMATION: Search for a missing juvenile will continue through the evening. Further investigation reveals an adult & two children, ages 8 & 12, were pulled in by wave. The adult & 8yo were beaten up by waves & pushed back to shore. Boy, 12, pulled under 100 yards offshore.
@CALFIRECZU Thank you for your response. I was on the beach when it happened and it was terrifying. Bystanders tried to help but the waves were too powerful. That poor family, it happened so suddenly.
The past 4 years Iโve struggled with my identity as an American. Even after #ElectionDay, Iโm stuck w the same prodding questions: How did we end up here? Whatโs our path forward?
Thanks @JonMays for publishing my post-election catharsis
