Where did we come from? Why did Neanderthals go extinct?

Survival was far harsher for our ancestors than it is for us today. We have laws, social structures, and technology that help shape and shield us from primitive human behavior.

Do you honestly think that humans would get along as well as they do without these systems?

Honestly?

In a TRUE survival situation, what would humans be capable of?

Did some Neanderthals resort to cannibalism?

If our modern world collapsed tomorrow, would we eventually revert to our most basic survival instincts?

If JD Vance is so concerned about women having more children. Non Western countries have more children and more poverty; with less systems in place that provide a higher quality of life for everyone.

It sounds like Vance is more suited for Saudi Arabia or some other country. He should consider moving.

Less children is not the issue. Western cultures are not perfect but we have better systems and infrastructure.

Less is more if you can optimize the human beings we already have..

I second that. In these online debates you learn a lot.

For one, I didn't know that lesbians had a higher per capita rate of divorce or IPV (intimate partner violence, essentially domestic violence) than even heterosexual couples, who are the vast majority of all couples, although heterosexual couples have a very high volume of divorces and IPV, due to population size.

Men in red pill spaces cherry pick the lesbian part to make it seem like women are more violent than men and leave out the men's share, claiming women are the problem, while radical feminists or misandrist groups take men's share to use as a blanket generalization of all men in this world, without citing the actual stat measurements.

People in such debates like to be selective on what information they get that measures one group average higher than the other.

Similar to black violence crimes vs White violence, with black violence.or any other crime being higher in per capita rates than Whites for the same crime relative to population size, at 55-60 percent of the crimes, according to some studies despite being only about 13 percent of the population.

Whites (non Hispanic, Hispanic arrests may inflate the numbers) have a higher absolute number of arrests for violent crimes and most crimes overall at about 60-66 percent, due to being the larger population of the United States, and therefore having more people involved in such crimes.

Blacks, however do have Whites beat in both raw numbers and per capita rates for murder, since murder is a major problem in the black community, particularly due to street or gang violence, and even domestic abuse, and most of the crimes of this or any other nature are intraracial. They commit most of their crimes against each other.

White nationalists/supremacists like to take black group averages and use it to paint all black people as bad, while black people defending against white racists like to say "that's not true" or "white people commit the most school shootings, or start the most wars" or "are the biggest pedophiles", while leaving out the black share in such aspects.

Both can be true at the same time on any side, but certain groups cherry pick whatever information seems conveniently higher and use it against that group while leaving their group's share out, to advance a narrative. To me this is dishonest debating, and as a Realist, I can't let that go unchecked.

I just had a Zoom call with other PhD students discussing gradient descent and neural networks.

We also discussed ML reinforcement learning.

My brain is stimulated but also adapting.

AI is a broad field and I don’t know of anyone who is a complete expert..

Quality over quantity?

Declining birth rates doesn’t imply that having more children is the solution…

The real question is whether an influx of children produces MORE degenerates or high quality human beings who genuinely contribute to society.

We have enough people, with less systems to give each of us a better quality of life.

Consider the broader global context…

WESTERN birth rates are the ones declining, populations in other regions continue to increas.

From a tribal or even a cultural perspective, we worry that Western societies face extinction if our foundational ideologies fade with us.

However, the human race as a whole continues to grow. We do not need to mimic hyper reproduction.

That’s what cockroaches do.

Instead, let’s focus on having fewer children while investing in higher quality life.

More capable individuals who can pass on western values.

Quality over quantity.
