Happy to announce I’m staying close by and will be starting as a reporter with @WFXRnews in June!
Incredibly thankful for this opportunity as well as Dave Kosin and Benjamin Oldham! See you in Roanoke!
CFP Ranking Thoughts:
BYU should have been #9… no one should be angrier than the Cougs.
Do away with the weekly ranking shows
Auto bids make college basketball great. They make college football worse…
So, BYU was penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game (dropped one spot). Which allowed Miami to move up and get compared directly to Notre Dame.
But Alabama was not penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game.
We grieve the passing of Rodney Rogers, 2022 Distinguished Alumni award winner and @WakeMBB legend.
Rodney inspired us on the court as ACC Rookie of the Year, ACC Player of the Year and NBA Sixth Man of the Year. After a life-changing accident in 2008 that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down, he continued to inspire many.
At Wake Forest, he led the Deacs to three NCAA Tournament appearances, had his Number 54 jersey retired and was inducted into the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame. Then over 12 seasons in the NBA, beginning as the ninth overall pick by the Denver Nuggets, he built a respected professional career.
Remembered for his generosity as much as his athletic talent, Rodney embodied #ProHumanitate through the Rodney Rogers Foundation, his encouragement of others with spinal cord injuries and his messages about perseverance and personal growth.
Wake Forest extends its deepest condolences to the Rogers family and all who were inspired by Rodney’s extraordinary life, career and spirit.
