El Paso and San Elizario's Ricardo Pepi made his World Cup debut Friday, coming off the bench in the U.S. Men’s National Team’s 4-1 win over Paraguay at SoFi Stadium.
Pepi nearly scored late, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Leif Moeller, a 6'7'' guard from Wedel, Germany, arrives at UTEP after a strong freshman season at Evansville.
He averaged 10.8 PPG, 4.0 APG, and 3.8 RPG while showing the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways.
"We are going to work our asses off to get better this summer...sky is the limit."
Moeller is excited to be in El Paso and ready to get to work.
Cam McDaniels is one of the newcomers on UTEP's 2026-27 roster.
The three-level scorer averaged 17.4 PPG last season at John A. Logan College. He earned second-team NJCAA All-American honors.
Now, he's making the jump to DI with the Miners.

- Squad is bigger, longer, and can score it.
- Cam McDaniels is a three-level scorer and looks impressive.
- Leif Moeller (6’7” guard) will be fun to watch running the offense.
- Jace Whiting is a bucket and a glue guy.
- Didn’t see much of the true freshmen, but Isaiah Ward stood out defensively.
