There are so many things happening behind closed doors. Di naman natatapos sa rounds ang trabaho ng consultants. Even just 1 lab test with a significant finding warrants heavy decision-making rooted on decades of practice. Favorite niyo talagang baratin ang mga doctor. Hahahaha.
Hmm, a lot of folks (even some MDs) are missing the point here. And this is me speaking from a family of doctors and healthcare practitioners—I’m a board passer myself.
Yung professional fees natin dito, sobrang disproportionate talaga, and it’s an unfortunate combination of salary issues, broken healthcare laws, lack of government support for practitioners, and HMO-related concerns.
Not every doctor charges the same, given their years of practice, specialization, and expertise. Pero dapat aminin din natin na merong mga doctor na hindi ka man lang nahahawakan pero ang professional fee eh sobrang mahal na. I’ve experienced the same thing many times with several specialists over the years.
And honestly, if the system weren’t this broken, professional fees could have been more standardized and regulated, while ensuring that the quality of care remains consistent regardless of where a patient seeks treatment or which facility they go to. Doctors can still be appropriately compensated for their expertise without making access to quality healthcare so dependent on the facility or the patient’s ability to pay.
Add ko lang na the more high end your hospital is = more expensive doctors because they literally paid the hospital for shares upfront just for the privilege to work there.
Imagine spending your entire 20s and half of your 30s studying and doing research during and in between 24-36 hour duties only to see someone complain on twitter abt the PF for a procedure which took AT LEAST 4-5 years of specialized training to master.
You wonder why healthcare is too expensive in the Philippines?
Look at the doctors’ professional fees.
My mom’s surgeon asked for ₱200,000 to place an implant. That’s just 1 doctor… may 3 pa.
it’s not difficult to admit there’s some stigma to it. in the US, from lifetime MSM deferral naging dapat none in the past 12 months na lang because people opened discussions about it and researchers did their studies.
daming allergic sa criticism. gets naman it’s protocol but are they not allowed to question it? hindi pala gets ni OP kasi sabi niyo “he’s not from the field” so knee jerk reaction is to crucify the ppl trying to open a discussion about it?
ang hostile nating mga HCW sa laymen.
IT’S NOT DISCRIMINATION, IT’S A PROTOCOL. Daming factors for u to be deferred as a donor. Sa daming tanong during screening to make sure na safe yung dugo nama donate, yan lang napansin mo. Top priority po ang safety ng pasyenteng makakatanggap ng dugo, hindi po feelings nyo.
protocols are meant to be amended because medicine is constantly changing :-)
as an RMT and a fairly new doctor, a lot has changed in HIV risk assessment. what i learned in college, not even a decade ago, has now changed. high risk sexual behaviors are not queer exclusive.
blood donation questionnaires are now more focused on sexual activities regardless of sexual preference, it’s sad how this is not standard yet. ISBT itself, the international society for blood banking, have advised changes from the conventional donor screening. have a read!
✌️😃

at this point, these netizens are asking for something non existent. they have convinced themselves that it wasn’t an accident which is so weird because why do you want it to be a foul play????
nagsalita nga yung players teh pero pauli ulit niyo naman sinasabi na they are lying SO WHAT ELSE ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO DO 😭 ‘di ko na uulitin yung sa CIDG kasi if u actually follow the news, you’ll know why now pa.
“we know that they were briefed beforehand” evidence where ?
the scrutiny ateneans get is not new. in fact, it’s that one thing we’re used to. but trust that they will be the first people to go against the admin.
still, the best days of my life were in Ateneo and that’s because of me and all the students who worked hard to be there.
not even an atenean but it's sad to see a respectable and prestigious institution suddenly be subjected to stigma and scrutiny and innocent students are getting dragged into the mess
with how ateneo handled this, they just ruined their reputation and tainted their name forever
Nevermind the thousands of Ateneo students and professors themselves who have signed petitions and have been constantly vocal about calling out the admin?
The admin may be dumb as fuck for whatever they’re doing but Ateneans have always rallied with and for their own.
THIS came from a Lasallian.
Meanwhile, a former captain of the Ateneo Women’s Volleyball Team who also came from Ateneo de Davao has remained silent on the matter.
SHAME ON YOU, TAKS FUJIMOTO. A DDS. AN UNDRAFTED PLAYER.
Selena Gomez addresses the reaction to her “lol” comment under photo of Taylor Swift at the Knicks game:
“woke up and was sent so many texts. I would never insult my friends nor was it an insult. The comment was a reaction to the first slide on the page. Second I bet my friends on the game. The friends in the text chain I posted. I lost but was poking at my opponents, my friends. Believe it or not I do have other friends in my life. But quickly forget that most assume otherwise. also .. It’s a basketball game”
it took me almost a month and a million revisions just to fix papers for an off-campus observership WITHIN metro manila but god damn these athletes and their school-sanctioned boot camps….. im ashamed of u, ateneo 💔
“If that already feels excessive to you, maybe the problem is not the outrage. Maybe the problem is the instinct to protect the comfort of the institution before the grief of the mother.”
defending Ateneo to the point of shielding from accountability

I almost took pride in whatever fraternity-less image Ateneo has been putting on. I said, maybe, it really is different here.
They can get themselves off the hook by a technicality that frats don’t exist or this is just whatever sports activity they do but 2 lives were lost.
UAAP should indefinitely suspend AdMU from participating in sporting events. There must be a probe on what happened. There are clear lapses on the part of the coaching staff and management. Rumors circulating that "Team Building" like this were almost military like in nature.
langdon was already upset at santos for doing a trigger point injection w/o presenting, reprimanded her for giving a patient tension pneumo w/o consulting.
langdon was in the wrong for yelling at her but a reckless pgy1 going rogue like that is a walking incident report #thepitt
just imagine ogilvie who has not probably gone through his radiology rotation, was left alone to do a kidney ultrasound he probably did for an hour because guess what? he’s a student fresh off the classrooms. this is samira’s fault
she is noticing the way robby reacts when women make mistakes vs when men make mistakes. lowkey if he crashes his motorbike i would not even be sad for a moment
i hate how true this is in real life and while its good that the pitt had that right on the nail, sometimes i just wanna watch when all women in medicine just try to be helpful to one another :(
im concerned by her pattern of playfully bantering with her male coworkers (langdon, whitaker) while berating her female coworkers by attacking their legitimacy in belonging at their position (javadi) or placing unrealistic and undeserved expectations on them (santos).
a boy would admit he cheated on someone on national tv but god forbid the woman moves on with a man yall dont like 🥴
there’s something truly misogynistic abt ppl praising DP for “upgrading” then trash on KB for getting into a relationship of her own lol but thats just me 🥱
sorry but this is not how this works
all of these patients are under robby and al-hashimi coz theyre the attendings. patients are distributed among the residents depending on how complicated the case is (seniors get the crazier ones, juniors get the straightforward ones)
@aozorawaltz Bored as hell so I recreated the table in a google sheet. Here is the share of workloads for the doctors and nurses as well as the distribution of patient ROVs. It looks like Dr Robby is not pulling his weight!
