@lakeshowlocked@RespectableVinc@CSmoove_Sports If they get him at 10 million it will be the right call. If they don’t, then we can debate whether they made a mistake not going all in for him. Let’s see what happens.
@lakeshowlocked@CSmoove_Sports@RespectableVinc I bet they get him at the 10 million number. They move Hardy and Knecht to another team for 2nds, and offer him a 2 year 20 million deal with a player option.
@lakeshowlocked@CSmoove_Sports@RespectableVinc Sure. I just think Kuminga should take the 10 million. Prove yourself and get the bag. He hasn’t done anything yet. You get to be the starting 4 for the Lakers and play with Luka. The Lakers should have to do any more than that.
@thee1LOE Yeah, I understand. I just wouldn’t do it if I was the Lakers. I’d rather have the MLE next year. I still think taking the 10 million is his best option. Take it or leave it. I would be ok losing the MLE next year for Watson. Better defender.
@lakeshowlocked@CSmoove_Sports@RespectableVinc It’s not as simple as the swap. It’s the long term implications. It means they won’t have their MLE next year. They’ll be over the tax threshold. Better to keep it. Then you can add a valuable player. Otherwise they are stuck. I would say take the 10 million or walk.
@thee1LOE He is unrestricted. If they clear Knecht and Hardy, they can sign him outright at 10 million. That is why the 2 year 20 million contract has been offered. That keeps the MLE in play next year. No S+T needed.
@Daangelvid@Yinoma2001 Because they need to be able to keep the MLE in play for next year. With it they can potentially sign one more impactful player.
@HowardAlonzo@LegionHoops@MikeAScotto@Lakers No. There was a deadline. The lakers knew what is was and could have waited. Everyone knew he was getting cut. They didn’t want him. They need defense and rebounding. Not an offensive driven backup center.
@doubtingreport@TheHerd@jovanbuha@jasonrmcintyre My guess is the lakers have a deal to move Knecht and Hardy for one or two 2nd rounders. That is why they can offer the reported 2 years at 20 million. Kuminga probably wants them to also stretch Vando so they can pay him 17 million. The Lakers are right to tell him to piss off.

@HA8TER Solid if they can pull off getting Kuminga. If they can clear two roster stops by dumping salary, sign him, and keep one open for a buyout candidate…that would be ideal.
