My placement this semester is in a 3rd grade classroom, so the students are just learning how to write in cursive. There are so many benefits to this, like improving fine motor skills in students and cognitive development! #ssmethods

Summer reading is a great way for students to expand their vocabularies and become fluent readers! Many young students in my hometown participated in summer reading through the community library that I work at. As a future teacher, I will continue to encourage students to read!

I love including self talk and positive language about ourselves in the classroom! Every morning at placement we have “positive action,” where students learn how to improve their self concept and discuss healthy lifestyle choices! Talking about these ideas with students is great.
