Modi govt destroyed the ISI-backed terror group Shahzad Bhatti Network ahead of Independence Day and thwarted its plans for subversive attacks by arresting more than 200 operatives.
Indian security forces ripped apart the network by launching coordinated operations across different locations in 14 states upholding a brilliant example of India's zero-tolerance towards terrorism.
Substantial recoveries, including IEDs, grenades bearing Pakistan Ordnance Factory markings, pistols, live cartridges, and CCTV cameras used for espionage, were made from the ISI-funded group. The network was involved in several terrorist activities.

No Charges for #UPI Users
➡️ The Government of India wishes to categorically state:
✅️ No charges for users: Consumers making payments will not face any transaction charges.
✅️ P2P transactions free: All Person-to-Person transactions will continue to be free of charge.
✅️ Nominal MDR for merchants: As and when MDR charges are introduced, they will apply only to a limited set of merchant transactions, above a certain threshold, at a nominal rate, far lower than debit or credit card MDRs.
✅️ Vast majority of the transactions will remain free of charge for merchants on UPI. MDR, if introduced, will only be threshold based and not blanketly levied to all.
✅️ Once the Parliament passes the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which proposes to amend Section 10A of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, the “UPI and Services Steering Committee” headed by NPCI will decide on the MDR, if any.

#WATCH | Amid claims and rumours surrounding E20 petrol, oil companies have rejected allegations of dangerous chloride levels and moisture. Testing found chloride levels between 0–3 ppm, while 100+ random refinery samples recorded levels at or below 1 ppm. Samples from 80 distilleries also recorded chloride levels below 3 ppm. Of 1,000+ petrol samples, only four cases showed elevated levels, following which supplies were stopped and corrective action was taken.

There has been considerable discussion around UPI and merchant charges. Here are the facts behind the conversation what it means for consumers, merchants, and India's digital payment ecosystem.
1. Will I have to pay to use UPI?
No. UPI has always been free for consumers since its launch in 2016. Every Indian can continue making instant digital payments without paying any transaction charges.
2. Will small shopkeepers or kirana stores be charged for accepting UPI?
No. Small merchants are not required to pay any charges (MDR) to accept UPI payments. UPI was designed to make digital payments accessible for even the smallest businesses across India, and protecting small merchants remains central to the ecosystem's inclusive growth.
3. Why is there a discussion around UPI charges now?
UPI has evolved from a new payment platform into the world's largest real-time payment system. As the ecosystem continues to expand, discussions are taking place on how to sustainably support the infrastructure that enables billions of secure transactions every month, while continuing to ensure that consumers and small merchants remain protected.
4. Who built and continues to invest in UPI?
For nearly 10 years, banks, payment companies, fintechs, NPCI and RBI have collectively invested in technology, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, innovation and customer support to build one of the safest and most reliable payment systems in the world. These investments continue every day to keep UPI secure, resilient and available 24×7.

Shame on your service center @tata_cars. Vehicle won't start, called for urgent help, and a scheduled callback never happened. Pathetic customer support—this is definitely the last Tata car I'll ever buy. Please escalate immediately. @TataMotors@TataCompanies
