Low pay not only makes life harder on school employees and teachers, it contributes to a teacher shortage that's bad for kids and public ed as a whole. https://t.co/7BwcRokKmk
@LouSchoolBeat If *anything* grab the backpack/project ANYWAYS and put it in the car where he can’t see it then grab it once he realizes it and tell him to be more careful next time.
That would’ve been a much better and less emotionally harmful lesson.
Public Facebook groups means friends and families could easily see that and potentially put this person out of their homes, they could lose so much sand that’s before you consider danger they could be in!
Sometimes I wish people would just think it through!
In one of those “are we dating the same person?” Pages someone literally outed their partners sexual orientation and instead of trying to grasp that it might be dangerous they’re like “well he’s put it out proudly on fetish sites!”
Please understand that is not the same thing!
It could be a great case study into what went wrong. How the opportunity was abused but also how the community didn’t really put the right protocols and protections in place.
Today is the 3rd anniversary of losing my cousin to an overdose. Thankfully she was able to help save 8 other individuals through organ donation,
Growing up I didn’t understand and demonized users and addicts because that’s what the people around me did. It wasn’t until …p1
I’ve become a firm believer in harm reduction efforts around the U.S.
Needle exchanges, Narcan trainings, drug testing sites, safe drug use sites etc. What’s going on in Portland could have been a great opportunity but I don’t feel like it was effectively rolled out.
You mean like the time that a stranger came through a sliding glass door when I was sleeping, smushed my face into a pillow to keep me from screaming and raped me when I was in college? Or the time that my LEO husband did what he wanted (cause spousal rape isn’t a thing, right) put a gun to my head and said that he could kill me and no one would give a shit. FUCK! YOU!
Had to cancel my N&T subscription $40/month for mid (at best) journalism wasn’t worth it.
Like you’re telling me you can’t even properly capitalize a persons job title?
