Six hundred and twenty days after SAGE first mentioned ventilation in schools.
Eighteen months since they warned to sort it before winter.
The government’s approach to ventilating children’s classrooms isn’t just late.
It is incompetent, complacent, and inadequate.
@Jean__Fisch Why would they waste all this money on a surgical mask study when they could have spent it on a respirator study? The small reductions in risk here are consistent with the idea that surgical masks are a completely inappropriate tool.
Starmer doing everything he can to create a left wing Reform style movement. Remember that the problem with Corbyn's vote was that it was "too concentrated". They would take a lot of seats.

“Reeves is today announcing plans to bring back mandatory housing targets, which Tory backbenchers tore down, and to boost building on the green belt. It was in the manifesto. Labour has a huge majority.”

@p_surridge Many of them voted for Corbyn 5 years ago. And we know that their vote is concentrated enough so they can actually take out constituencies. A left wing Reform style movement could take shape?
EU27: we currently project that the centre-right EPP of incumbent Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is set to win the popular vote in this European election. #EP2024

@tombennett71 I thought the trip was a reward for good behaviour?
Perhaps at least communication could be improved here.
Your points are very important.
This video of the Rock of Gibraltar gives an intuition for why some areas of the world have deserts next to rainforests
What's happening here?
How can you use that to predict where there will be deserts or rainforests?🧵
There's a remarkable similarity between the pattern of variation during the past few years (2021-2024), which is associated with a La Nina-to-El Nino transition, and what was seen during the interval 2013-2016. The difference is the overall warming (~0.2C) that's occurred since.
@moog77 @CathNoakes @TAH_Sci Don't we have results from some actual experiments in schools (or university dorms, or offices) to show that better air quality did actually lead to less respiratory disease among the group of occupants? (Not just less transmission in that environment).
