@stehoare Thought that only applied to handballs that wouldn’t be called unless it immediately led to a goal. That should be a handball anywhere on the pitch.

Oh, hey there, Kris Twardek 👋
Surging up the standings, the former #CPLsoccer star has found a rich vein of form in Ireland with Galway United 📈
Oh, and CanMNT 🇨🇦 striker Cyle Larin moves up to 2nd ⬆️
@MoeKhan19 For me it’s Hughes/Seider, Boldy, Caufield, Harley/Lacombe as the top guys. After that there’s a group of Cozens, Wolf, Knight, Zegras, Byram, Pinto, Protas who are all very good players. Obviously it’s still fairly early for the goalies.
@RiseFromTheAshZ Guys like Schenn, Vilardi, Zibanejad were all high picks with higher upside than Kapanen or Engstrom. Also the pending UFA trades aren’t really relevant. The thing with Pettersson is his contract is such a commitment, I wonder if that stops Van from getting the value they want.
@ESPNFC Every team is decent and could cause the US problems. But they’re still the best team and should be favourites, especially at home. A stronger pot 2 team would have made it quite tough.
@MarcPDumont Yeah, they had a couple great chances to get a goal or two in the first and didn’t. Got unlucky on the 2nd goal (bad call) but didn’t respond well and have pretty much left Dobes hanging out to dry since. Need to take your chances when you get them against the best teams.
@stehoare I’m guessing because they will consider the error was sending the ref to the monitor for a borderline call not the call of foul/no foul by the ref once he’s there.
@DaleJohnsonESPN I agree that the explanation in the ground should be as simple as possible for the fans but there’s really no excuse for commentators, pundits or players to be confused by the terminology.
@EricMacramalla Probably just right if you look at other RFA contracts. He was always have to take a couple steps for it to be a good deal. At 21, there lots of reason to think he can still do that.
@49erGooner@DaleJohnsonESPN They (hopefully) will enforce it and refs have been given guidance on how they should. Fans just need to understand what that means. It’s up to the ref when the 8 seconds begins and people shouldn’t complain if on occasion that’s a few seconds longer than their own count.
@DaleJohnsonESPN Why is this such a difficult concept for many to accept. The spirit of the laws have always been important to how the game is officiated.
@49erGooner@DaleJohnsonESPN They’ll be doing that to a certain extent by counting down the final 5 seconds. But the laws work differently than those other sports. The intent of the rule is to avoid blatant time wasting not to implement a strict countdown on goalies, I’m not sure why anyone would want that.
@JFreshHockey Think Cirelli’s there for sure because of Cooper. Not keen on Marchand after watching 4 nations. I think there’s room for Scheifele in an offensive roll.
