For radical feminism, socialism, democracy, & cold-eyed zealotry. Against war, exploitation, & imperialism. Politically, hahaha, er homeless, haha. Uh.
For any who missed it on Saturday, I revealed my musical alter-ego @asuggestiveinq with a thread introducing a stylistically varied sample of seven of my songs, with lyrics inspired by—among others—V. Gordon Childe, Diana Wynne Jones, Douglas Adams, Ian Paul Wright, and my cat.
So here's my latest song, the first beta release from an absurdly ambitious prospective project—a concept album based on @IanPaulWright's essay on the Dark Eucharist of the Real God. This is Epiklesis, and it's about that shadow, over there, in the corner. https://t.co/UX3XtQeYTd
Fascinating novel, Sue Burke's Semiosis. Not seen many speculative accounts of intelligent plants that really explore what that might be like (I don't think #DoctorWho's #TerrorOfTheVervoids counts—that's just Agatha Christie in space with a side salad) but this must be the best.
Rewatching again too soon after the last rewatch really, but who cares. Still love the episode where the demons are working people to death in a day, extracting their entire living essence, and Buffy overthrows them with a hammer and sickle including an ostentatious hero pose.
Things Olive does when she's been on anti-anxiety drugs: (1) jump on top of the tallest car in the neighbourhood to survey her domain; (2) do a big poo in her litter tray and not even slightly try to cover it up with litter
I think my back must have got sunburnt through my t-shirt while cycling this past week because I'm rubbing up against every right-angled joining of walls I pass like a bear
@barneycarroll She's ok, she's got some good cool spots depending on time of day: inside neighbour's hedge, shaded parts of front steps, the piece of floor under a chair that the sunlight never hits, and in between the guitars. She's not eating so much, but her love of water is in her favour.
