As I get active on X, the plan is to begin creating and sharing original content revolving around Off Grid Solar/Energy Storage, and independent living. Please comment and let me know what subject(s) in this space you want to know more about, for example, how to size a system for your remote cabin/BOL.
@SenatorDurbin@grok what percentage of Illinois gun owners complied and registered an “Assault Weapon” after Illinois passed a ban. Provide only the percentage of FOID card holders and number of registered items only.
It will be a while, if it ever does. Currently top end tech is being deployed for the utility scale and data center markets. As someone who works in the space at a very high level, I can tell you the major issue is scale and demand. We are now pushing 6.25 MWH in a 20 foot container that we would build as a 3 MWH just 24 months ago, and demand is outpacing supply.
There's not enough demand in the power tool space for a pack that dense to justify building a new battery plant at 7+ Billion RMB.
Weight is also a problem, current LFP tech isn't getting any lighter, the electrolyte is just getting better allowing for more energy per cubic meter. A 5.0 AH Milwaukee battery for example, is about the perfect weight to balance a hand drill. While it's theoretically possible to build a 10-12 AH battery that same size, it will weigh the same as current generation 12.0 AH batteries, which if anyone has used them, knows is really too much for most shop tools.
Where it could be helpful would be in making a 24 AH for a chainsaw, leaf blower, etc in the same footprint. But that's a smaller market.
Residential, it may be possible to see a 500-1000 AH batteries developed but with FEOC issues putting a damper on the US market, don't expect anything until state level incentives fill in the funding gap left by the end of the 30% ITC credit and lenders are willing to build out VPP's for FEOC products. This is happening so I would say you see this in 18-24 months after programs like those in Illinois come online and the demand for residential storage goes back up. As much as I love the off grid/cash buyer space (lived off the grid on solar plus storage for 10 years now) it's not a large enough market to justify the product development costs for major manufacturers, and smaller integrators are not typically being allowed to purchase top end cells due to the manufacturers own demand.
Small integrators typically get the last generation of products in the best of times, so when demand in the rest of the world is exploding for all forms of energy storage due to the war in the Middle East cutting off fuel globally there's no chance they get anything beyond what they contracted for before it happened. The Chinese take on this from the OEM side is that the war is "Making China Great Again".
Sodium density and voltage range is worse, and no major tool manufacturer will go backwards. You could argue cold temperature operation, but again, small market and the voltage sag issue is still very real. Everyone loves how they don't loose power from a lithium power tool, as many of us remember the reduction in power from NiCad batteries as they were discharged. This problem reappears with sodium.
However new laws in China are baring the building of new LFP plants to try and push the country to build sodium technology, so as this happens you may see retooling of existing LFP capacity to higher density small scale cells, or new developments in sodium that bring up density, or address voltage sag. Density I see happening, sag I don't as it's kind of "baked in" to the electrolyte/anode/cathode, but I could certainly be wrong.
Graphene is still in development. It's not a real product yet.
So the simple answer is that it is a solution without much of a problem in small scale batteries, and is best used in what it's being deployed for.

Effective immediately Pembleton and Sons is dissolved due to unfortunate circumstances. I will fulfill all current orders and warranty issues regarding Pembie-5 cassettes, but will be shutting off all further orders tomorrow morning. This is killing me, but it has to be done. I personally want to thank everyone that has ever supported me/us for the entirety of what we have become. All of my files that are open source files will remain up and accessible. I love all of you and will forever be grateful for every single one of you that have pushed me to my potential. Yall are the motivation.
You cant stop the signal only the messenger.

@reoindustries Please tell me your alternators will be mounted in a logical location under the hood.
Just spent 3.5 hours standing on my head (laying across the engine) to change the alternator on a 2019 @Ford F150 due to a design that isn’t friendly to home mechanics.
@s2_underground Take a look into the work of @BasedTorba his AI @Gab__AI is the only AI I am aware of that believes Christ is King. That one universal truth does an awful lot for it.
