The QB controversy has already had dramatic effect from media and fans. One thing that isn’t sitting well with us- that the Vikings don’t have confidence in JJ McCarthy as their quarterback of the future.
Sure- he may not be presently ready to be the guy this season. But to say “there’s a reason we brought Kyler in” doesn’t take into account that we got a proven talent at ridiculous contract value.
It’s a fortunate situation that we’re looking at here and Kyler is the overwhelming favorite to start this season. That doesn’t mean that we have closed the door on a 23 year old top 10 pick that has played 10 games in his career.
He came into the league at 21 years old- acquiring Kyler allows him to develop without the immediate expectations and find his edge to step up quicker. The growing narrative that he will be a locker room cancer or request a trade if he doesn’t win the job is a media narrative- not JJ’s or the Vikings.
I keep seeing this interview pop up on my timeline. People want JJ to be psyched about the guy brought in to take his job? That was just an honest non pc answer. Murray is full of shit with his answer. Give me the honest guy who won a natty
Feel brutal for Wild fans. That team was so good and you lose your best center and a stud top 4 d man against the best team in the league. Just a kick in the dick. Minnesota sports fans are pros at getting their hearts ripped out.
Minnesota,
I thank yall for believing and taking a chance on me. I thank Kwesi for allowing me to continue to live out my childhood dream. The bonds that I’ve made in that building will never be broken. Being coached by KO and Flo were one of the best experiences since being in the league. I appreciate and respect the hell outta that organization. Business is business so it’s always love this way. I gave everything I had in the tank for yall MN. Love. 58✌🏾
Vikings fans are in a tough spot right now, but if this season has shown us anything, it’s that this league has a development and patience problem.
You’ve got a proven coach who knows how to develop players, now you’ve got to be patient with JJ and sit with the frustrations that come with growth. He needs time, more time than you probably want to give, but he’s shown enough flashes to believe he can be special.
I believe Kevin O’Connell will get him right, and that we’ll see a completely different player next season.
