“ When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”

Why does Ghana’s number 10 shirt generate so much mystique?
Read on:
Brandon Thomas-Asante has impressed me with his calm and collected demeanor both on and off the field since he took on the famed number 10 shirt for the Black Stars.
Some Ghanaians seem to think that wearing this number is like shouldering the monumental burden of Atlas, the Greek titan who carries the entire sky on his back. They believe that only a select few players are worthy of managing the weight of this shirt—a player who wields a sort of magic that can instantly change Ghana's fortunes in a match. Many of our finest players have tried, only to struggle under the pressure of the number 10. Some have even shied away from embracing it altogether, haunted by the idea that one poor performance could be tied to the shirt’s legendary status.
Is it possible that Brandon's upbringing outside Ghana gives him a buffer against these myths? Or will every game he plays in that iconic jersey be overshadowed by the remarkable feats of those who wore it before him, rather than reflecting his own skills? Time will reveal the answer. What remains certain, though, is that the mystique surrounding the number 10 jersey continues to captivate the minds of Ghanaian fans.
@KDHGoldbars___@Kwaku_telly It is ceremonial isn’t it. My message said traditional or ceremonial? ‘Or’ is disjunctive and represents alternatives? Or?!
At what point will the Black Stars wear ceremonial or traditional Ghanaian outfits?
Formal arrivals are usually the red carpet of international tournaments.

1. The 2014 team had the best blend of youth and experience.
2. The poor start cost us - The money was not why Ghana lost against the USA in the opening match. Like 2026, the first match was the most manageable on paper.
3. The money issue became a concern when the players sensed after the Germany game that with just a point and Portugal to come next they may exit without being sorted out.
4. Could we have beaten Portugal by more than 2 goals even if the money strike had not taken place?
I say all the time that the Brazil 2014 team is the best team Ghana has ever taken to the World Cup. A shame that we let money issues ruin what could have been an amazing tournament for us. This team was so good on their day!
@itz_WINDSTER@niiboyekorley What I know is that Carlos Queiroz doesn’t take BS and has a reputation to protect in this high risk World Cup gamble. I have expressed strong opinions against the Okraku regime and will continue to but the “obvious influenced” jibe doesn’t cut it. If you have filla, drop it.
Baba Rahman is by no means a perfect player. Carlos Queiroz named him in his squad for a reason. So, if anyone has a problem with his call up why not take it up with the coach? Criticism of his performances is fair, but the vitriol and abuse is unacceptable and must stop.
Gutted we could not get the win last night, but this a marathon not a sprint. We will get there. This group will give everything for this precious shirt.God bless our homeland Ghana 🇬🇭. #NawuniGhafara
@Tcombolo It would be helpful if you pointed out exactly what is sinful about recalling a player after a 4-year absence, during which period that player was active at club level?
Revamping the Pantang-Abokobi road is a short-term fix. Without addressing runoff and constructing larger drains in the valley, the issue will persist. The increase in water flow from the mountains has risen significantly since the removal of vegetation for housing development.
The story behind the Athens 2004 jerseys is pretty fascinating. The Meteors actually wore gear from three different brands. The yellow jersey you mentioned is a Nike top paired with pants from a different company. Observe the different fonts for the number 12 on Asamoah Gyan’s jersey and pants!
“ Partey has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges but that is for a jury to decide, and it is possible they won’t decide anything until early 2027.
So this is a curious limbo for football and for Partey.”
