Today, ret. Sgt. Robin Easey was laid to rest.

Sgt. Easey was injured in the line of duty when responding to a call at Bayshore Shopping Centre in September 1984, which left him blind with severe mobility and health issues.

Sgt. Easey and his family persevered and became forces of change. Sgt. Easey remained a member of our Service and advocated for improvement in the field of brain injuries and police members involved in traumatic events. This led to support networks like Robin’s Blue Circle of Life and the Robin Easey Centre for Cognitive Rehabilitation at The Ottawa Hospital.

We thank you, Sgt. Easey, for your service.

Aujourd'hui, nous avons dit aurevoir au sergent retraité Robin Easey.

Le sergent Easey fut blessé dans l'exercice de ses fonctions lors d'une intervention au Centre commercial Bayshore en septembre 1984, où il perdit la vue, en plus d'éprouver de graves problèmes de santé et de mobilité.

Résolus, le sergent Easey et sa famille devinrent des forces du changement. Le sergent Easey demeura membre de notre Service et milita pour des améliorations dans le domaine des lésions cérébrales et pour les policiers impliqués dans des événements traumatisants. Ses efforts engendrèrent des réseaux de soutien, comme son propre Blue Circle of Life, ainsi que le Centre de réadaptation cognitive Robin Easey à l'Hôpital d'Ottawa.

The real impact: a 5% cut to the value of workers' wages.

PSAC started with a 13.5% demand and is now signalling acceptance of a lower level. They're being flexible. The government shouldn't call that "unreasonable".
