Your colleague does not have to share your political ideology. And someone who disagrees with you politically is not automatically a bad person.
You can disagree without disrespecting each other. You can debate passionately without becoming bitter.

Don’t lose your character over politics.
And, above all, don’t lose a genuine friend over politics.
At the end of the day, we may vote differently and still live in the same community, share the same workplace, belong to the same family and care about one another.

So, support the candidate you believe in. Defend the principles you stand for. Speak up when you believe something is wrong. Participate in the political process. Debate, engage and exercise your right to choose.
But do it with wisdom.
Don’t lose your peace over politics.

Sometimes, all it takes is a difference of political opinion.
We must learn to draw a line between political disagreement and personal relationships.
Your friend does not have to vote for your candidate. Your brother does not have to support your political party.

Political parties will win and lose. Candidates will rise and fall. But the people who stood beside you during difficult times, celebrated your victories, supported your family and shared important moments of your life may still be there long after the political season is over.

You can support different candidates and still celebrate each other’s successes. You can argue about politics today and still sit down and have lunch together tomorrow.
Politics is temporary. Relationships are bigger than politics.
Campaigns will end. Elections will come and go.

As the political season begins and campaigns gather momentum, emotions will naturally run high. People will support different candidates, defend different parties, hold different opinions and, at times, disagree passionately.
