The Kings Park High School girls hoops team is in the state "final four" for the first time ever. That's got the players, teachers and random dudes in cars very excited. The girls play their semifinal game Friday in Troy, NY. @KingsParkHS@KPCSDAthletics@NYSPHSAA@News12LI
Congratulations are in order ‼️
First, a big congrats to the entire @nylawschool Sports Law Society for the successful running of the third annual Soccer Negotiation Competiton. So much goes into these competitions behind the scenes from securing schools, judges, room space, food, timekeepers, writing problem sets, and the actual logistics of running the competition. Our students continue to push the bar higher and higher as we cement ourselves in the national sports law rankings. This past year we were - for the first time - formally recognized as a Top 20 Sports Law Program in the country and this competition is certainly one of the driving forces. Bravo to all involved from competition directors Benjamin Kaner & Ethan Zucker, Sports Law President Olivia Hellerich, and the rest of the board that dedicated Friday & Saturday to ensure this went off without any issues.
And second, a huge congrats to Team Pace Sports Law (@pace_seals) for WINNING the Competition. Pace had two teams make the final four and ultimately found a winner against Team Villanova in the finals. In so doing, they become the first non-Marquette school to win the competition. A hard fought battle to cap off a fierce competition field that featured schools across the country. A huge congrats(!!) to Marc Bisogno, Josephine Buckley, Samantha Portillo, Nathaniel Pinero, and coach Andrea Garcia for this tremendous accomplishment!
A big thank you to our judges, support staff, and our competition sponsor @themisbar! We will see you next year!

Earlier this week we hosted our first Sports Law Networking event through the @SportsLawyers Association. A great turnout with practicing attorneys and law students in attendance from around the tri-state area. Always great to meet friends from social media and our podcast audience in person. Plus a surprising showing from my sports law class at @NYLawSchool - good to know we are still on speaking terms after taking that final exam 😅
Stay tuned for more of these sports law focused events as we head into 2024.

The evolving landscape in this NIL era in college sports, leads to college athletes facing various challenges in navigating NIL. That being said, the NIL Pro Bono Project @ NYLS is here to provide free resources and aid in any NIL venture an athlete may come across. Meet the team
let me get this straight - so eating cheese off a board is “classy” and “seventeen dollars,” but when i eat it directly from the fridge at 3 am that makes me “a gremlin” ???
