Revelations that fake or highly ineffective cancer drugs are being administered to patients in four African countries, including Kenya, are alarming. According to a study conducted by a researcher from the University of Notre Dame in the US, published in the Lancet Global Health, in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, and Cameroon, about 17 percent of cancer drugs don't contain the vital ingredients that are needed to treat or reduce the disease.

There's an ongoing protests in Manda Island, Lamu County.

The residents are protesting the illegal introduction of buffaloes and other wild animals by a private company without community consent or proper environmental clearance.

The residents say that the roaming animals are a direct threat to human life, particularly school children, and are damaging crops, livestock, and local livelihoods.

The community also say that the introduction of the wild animals looks like a hidden agenda of grabbing community land for a conservancy.
