Cambodia says the 20 soldiers held captive by Thailand have not been returned, urging their immediate release, while the Thai military waits for the legal process to be completed before repatriating them.
In a regular briefing, defense spokesperson Lieutenant-General Maly Socheata said Cambodia has demanded that the Thai side sends the troops home as soon as possible.
According to The Nation’s report quoted in Al Jazeera, the Royal Thai Army said it would return the soldiers when “the legal procedures are completed.” The Thai military is reportedly conducting a thorough review of the incident, though the nature of the legal proceedings is unknown.
