This discourse about Issa Rae is truly disgusting & this crabs in a bucket mentality some Black people have is gross. Just because someone didn’t struggle like you or live in proverty doesn’t make them less black. Wealthy or not every black person doesn’t have the same upbringing

Nicki Minaj's husband is on house arrest for threatening Offset. Right after that, she previews a song on IG saying she got killers who will pull up and do what she say. This was the same Nicki who threatened to send her husband to Akademiks' house for his comments about her. This is the same Nicki who told Meek Mill to have his crew beat up Quentin Miller, which then happened. Have you ever heard a woman scream, "my man will fuck you up!" over something she started herself? That's Nicki. If you want to see how these stories end, check out my interview with Travis Rudolph. After an argument with his girlfriend, she sent her brother and 3 other guys to shoot up his house. One of them ended up dead, another one got shot.
Travis was charged with murder - which he luckily beat in trial due to self-defense. To all the men out there, I don't care how fat her ass is or how good the sex is. Avoid women like Nicki who use men as crash dummies like the plague. I said what I said.
Raider klan is the blueprint behind soundcloud rap, never forget that..just cuz y’all was still listening to drake & big Sean in 2012 doesn’t mean everybody was.
Black History Tea:
When Frederick Douglass married a white woman and America Went IN
1n 1884, Frederick Douglass was the most famous black man in America. After publishing three autobiographies, delivering hundreds of speeches, and becoming a moral/political consultant to President Abraham Lincoln --Douglass was a household name among both black and white audiences.
Though he was known for his surprises--the one surprise that neither black nor white America was ready for was his marriage to a white woman by the name of Helen Pitts in the winter of 1884.
Against a cultural backdrop where interracial marriage was still illegal in much of the country---the scandal was further hyped by the significant age gap between the two newlyweds. Pitts was two decades younger than Douglass--the press (inaccurately) reported that he was 76 and she was 36 (in actuality he was 66 and she was 46) and the marriage was deemed the cultural scandal of 1884. Pitts father refused to talk to her again and excluded her from his will.
Douglass's children were equally upset--calling their father's decision to marry just 18 months after the passing of his beloved first wife (the brilliant Anna Douglass, who was the mother of all five of his children) just plain tacky. The black press framed the marriage as evidence of Douglass's "sell out" status--and the white press acted a racist fool (calling Pitts a "second class white woman" and comparing Douglass to a Barnum Circus act).
Douglass responded to critics by saying that the color of his wife was irrelevant to his politics. The two of them went on to "live happily ever after."
The Douglass/Pitts marriage of 1884 helped set in motion a now longstanding (and often behind close doors) conversation in Black America about the legacy of "prominent" black men choosing non-black spouses.
How does the Douglass/Pitts marriage of 1884 resonate with today's (black) cultural conversations?
