A summary of the PLTW engineering pathway:
First year: Intro to Engineering Design
We learned how to draw isometric sketches and use Autodesk Inventor, a 3D modeling CAD software. Many of our coolest projects included designing and modeling our own 'product'.
This past Friday the Ocean's 1011 Senior PLTW Engineering group competed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the JPL Invention Challenge Finals and scored 4th out of 26 teams (including 5 teams of JPL engineers!) Go Samohi PLTW Engineering!
This past Saturday the PLTW engineering seniors competed in the JPL “Sticky Wicket” regional competition. One of our teams, Ocean’s 1011, scored 4th place out of 25 teams and now advances to the finals at JPL on December 9th. Congrats to all of the engineers who competed!!
Our Project Lead The Way students are enjoying their new interim instructional learning lab. These future engineers are on their way to great success. @SMMUSD
Please come and support SAMOHI class of 2022 PLTW capstone projects on the 4th story of the discovery building. It will be a lot of fun and prepared to be amazed.
PLTW is hard at work on our capstone projects. We are currently in the deigning phase by making hand drawn sketches and 3D models. We hope to get our prototypes built ASAP. #PLTWCLASSOF2022#samohiengineering#goteamgo
