Web5 is a concept for a decentralized internet, introduced by Jack Dorsey. Aims to address perceived shortcomings of both Web 2.0 (the current internet, largely controlled by centralized entities) and Web3 (the "decentralized web" often associated with cryptocurrencies and NFTs).
It's real. Developers are working on this. Here's some details about the drop you should know.π
" base verify demo " is a template application built to demonstrate the capabilities of the Base Verify API, it is designed to show how project developers can customize and enforce their own trait-based eligibility rules to prevent Sybil attacks.
However, the repository provides
" example criteria " using different social media and account platforms. In the demonstration code, a user is eligible for the drop if they connect their Web3 wallet and meet configurable criteria across the following platforms:
π1. X (Twitter) Requirements
Verification Status: Must have a verified account (e.g., a blue checkmark).
Follower Count: Typically configured to require a minimum number of followers (the example used in the repository code requires " 1,000+ followers " or " 10,000+ followers" depending on the logic block).
π2. Coinbase Requirements
Subscription:Must have an active
" Coinbase One" subscription.
Billing Status: Verified that the user has actively been billed for the subscription.
π 3. Instagram Requirements
Follower Count: Configured to require a minimum threshold (the example uses " 5,000+ followers " ).
Username Check: Capability to look for specific usernames if required.
π4. TikTok Requirements
Engagement Metrics: Can be configured to look for a minimum follower count (1,000+ followers), minimum video uploads (50+ videos), or a minimum like count (10,000+ likes).
π How the Eligibility Process Works Under the Hood:
π 1. Wallet Connection: You connect your Web3 wallet (like Coinbase Wallet).
π2. Deterministic Token Check (Sybil Resistance): Base Verify creates a unique, privacy-protected token linked to your social media account.
π 3. The "One Account = One Drop" Rule:
Even if a user connects 10 different wallets, if they use the same X or Instagram account to verify, Base Verify will generate the exact same token. The repository's database schema is explicitly set up to reject duplicate tokens, meaning " a single person cannot claim the drop multiple times using multiple wallets. "
π4. Backend Validation: The app's backend verifies that your social account meets the exact numeric thresholds (like the 1,000 followers rule) before releasing the drop.
Received my final round of creator rewards today from @baseapp.
I've truly enjoyed being part of this program. Don't forget to check your balances! ππ

π¨ $BASE Airdrop is Coming π₯³
Base has been silently building an airdrop claim page.
Recently Base GitHub added that Base Verify Airdrop Demo page on their GitHub.
It says, "Base Verify Airdrop Demo is a Next.js mini app demonstrating Base Verify integration for social account verification and airdrop claiming.
This demo shows how to verify users' social accounts (X/Twitter, Coinbase, Instagram, TikTok) without requiring them to share credentials, while preventing Sybil attacks through deterministic tokens.

There are more eligible criteria mentioned; it's like I said that before, Coinbase on-chain verification is important for Airdrop claims.
I will post more things about the claim page soon.
Follow me and turn on notification for more updates.
This kind of infrastructure is exactly what the @base ecosystem needs to scale sustainably.
Traders privacy is important.
Excited to get an early look at @talonprotocol
$BASE airdrop is the elephant in the room for 2026. π¦
With JPMorgan estimating a potential $34B market cap.
Are you positioned yet, or just watching from the sidelines?
@degenbross@0xkopil There are plenty of roles available, buddy!
I highly suggest grabbing the Coinbase Verification and Social roles first, as they are the most important for filtering out bots. Try to get every role you can, including all the Onchain ones. Good luck! π€
@degenbross@0xkopil That campaign has already ended, buddy. If you didn't participate in last year's Onchain Summer, you won't be able to get those roles anymore.
