This is another Puerto Rican staple. “Empanadilla de Pizza”. It’s a deep fried turnover filled with cheese and pizza sauce.

Over 40 years ago I remember stopping by a food truck near my house, and for $1 I would buy an empanadilla de pizza split open and filled with spicy ground beef, lettuce, tomato, and spicy sauce.

Let me tell you, you haven’t lived until you’ve had a stuffed empanadilla.

This is a plate of bifongo (mashed green and ripe plantain) with fried pork chunks and garlic sauce, with a side of “arroz manposteao”, which is kind of a rice with everything on it.

This is Puerto Rican cuisine.
