“Aging healthier over time doesn't have to start in your 30s, 40s, 50s or 60s. It can start in 70s or even 80s. Especially for women … women have a harder time building muscle mass so they really have to focus on strength training for healthier aging. I’m not saying heavy weights but lifting three to five pound weights every day will make a difference.” - Dr. Sarah Samreen
Our very own @LaxmiDongur_MD has received the @AmCollSurgeons Operation Giving Back Scholarship, where she will learn more about #globalsurgery following her recent educational trip to Kenya with @bnaikma. Congratulations, Dr. Dongur!

Recognizing that the care we provide is affected by cultural differences between us and our patients… is the first step to overcoming it.
We have implicit bias.
So do our patients.
We need to do the work.
