DFL & Labor Endorsed Candidate for Senate District 44 | @ISD622 School Board Director | Believer of relationships & consensus-building | @UMNMorris ‘21〽️ 🏳️🌈
Proud to be the DFL Endorsed candidate for State Senate in district 44!
I put my heart, energy, & love for this community into this campaign. Yesterday wasn’t the finish line, it’s the starting line. I also want to thank Leslie, Mauricio, & Yakasah for running thoughtful,

Congressman Emmer’s comments are disturbing & troubling. Why use your platform to grow divisiveness?
Native Americans were once told to assimilate. They were put in inhumane boarding schools & many were killed.
We value freedom & liberty in the USA.
🇺🇸🗽
Tom Emmer: "Minnesotans are so afraid that you're gonna call us a racist, you're gonna call us an Islamophobe. You know what? I'm done being even the least bit careful. Somalis don't assimilate. And if they don't assimilate, then they should go the hell back to where they came from."
With federal protections for the Boundary Waters gutted, President Trump and Republicans want to start mining in the watershed. I cannot vote for the Interior budget as long as it contains this horrible provision and I will be working to strip it out.

A few things:
7 rounds of balloting is different than not showing up
57% of DFL delegates are 1st time delegates—Not “party insiders,” they are everyday Minnesotans
Weird to comment about Peggy’s now deceased mom
Craig is skipping the forum/debate that would’ve taken place
Minnesota leading the nation in farm bankruptcies should concern all of us.
Skyrocketing fuel and fertilizer costs are hurting farmers and raising grocery prices for families. We have to do better by the people who put food on our tables.

I was #6 to file today with the Secretary of State for State Senate in District 44!
I’m excited to get to work with @leonlillie & @PeterFischerMN.

At tonight’s HCMC forum hosted by the People’s Attorney @keithellison, community members, physicians, nurses & healthcare workers spoke on the importance of investing in MN’s largest safety net hospital.
HCMC is vital to healthcare access & specialized care for ALL Minnesotans.
Oakdale & Senate District 44, along with the East Metro, are ground zero of the devastating impacts of #PFAS.
I grew in the purple area just blocks away from the 3M disposal site.
We must investigate the health impacts from 3M’s pollution and deliver accountability.

Honored to be endorsed by AFSCME Council 5 & proud to be a labor endorsed candidate for MN Senate.
As a kid of small business owners and grandkid of a union tradesman, I know the system often favors the wealthy & well-connected. I’ll fight for workers’ rights & affordability.
As a State Senator, I will fight for independent research, stronger enforcement, and real accountability so corporations like 3M can no longer treat our communities as expendable.

Minnesotans are tired of excuses.
Being a major employer does not put any corporation above accountability. If you poison our water and endanger our communities, you should be held responsible, full stop.

•The U.S. Senate may hold a floor vote TODAY which would overturn a 20-year moratorium on sulfide-ore copper mining on 225,000 acres of Superior National Forest land in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) Wilderness in northern Minnesota. The Boundary Waters is the most visited Wilderness in the United States.
🛶 Enjoying the Minnesotan/Canadian wilderness by canoe or other lesser watercraft is one of our nations greatest available pastimes, and one I have personally enjoyed my entire life. We must protect these public lands from the rapacious capitalists threatening to turn them into a poisoned wasteland.
•This vote in Congress would open the door to copper mining at the headwaters of this entire ecosystem. This kind of mining produces toxic pollution, including acid runoff and heavy metals, that can contaminate nearby waters.
•The Boundary Waters supports a major outdoor economy that sustains thousands of jobs and generates over a billion dollars a year - built on clean water and intact public lands. But this vote would clear the way for toxic mining that puts all of that at risk. It would also set a dangerous precedent, making it easier to roll back protections for public lands across the country, including wilderness areas, national monuments, and national parks.
•This is a defining moment. If you care about clean water, public lands, and protecting places we can’t replace, now is the time to speak up.
•Protect the Boundary Waters, and vote NO on House Joint Resolution 140. Let’s save this treasured place for all of us—forever. https://t.co/JhNAR6Za2O
The Legislature must act to repeal the $250 million cut to special education.
The cut would take us backwards, which we can’t to do the students, families, and school districts. We should instead be firmly supporting special education.

MN has not kept pace with the cost of providing a quality education since 2003.
Costs go up, funding stays nearly flat. Districts try to pass levies, but many fail.
As a school board member, I know we have to do better.
The University is celebrating a major milestone, recently launching its 300th startup since 2006, with more than 140 spin-offs created since 2020. Those companies have generated more than $3.5 billion in investment capital and created over 1,500 jobs. https://t.co/ELMk3VffOs
Full committee room for the “People Not Polluters” hearing at the Capitol.
We have to strengthen accountability for polluters to protect our communities and our health. 🌱💧

In a rare moment, I agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene.
When a President uses genocidal language & threatens to wipe out an entire civilization, it’s deeply reckless & appalling.
I’m committed to protecting Minnesotans from this administration if elected.
