@Lisa2937123715@MikeDelph Murder, theft, assault, drugs, etc, are all already illegal
Laws don't stop violence, they only create an opportunity for punishment afterwards.
Culture stops violence, it starts with creating opportunities for people. Community.
@jstewartIndy I wonder how much of a pay cut the governor and lieutenant governor are going to take since they will be reducing the revenue by so much? Surely our legislators will be taking a pay cut in order to make this work.
@jstewartIndy By suspending the gas tax, Braun has caused loss of revenue means important infrastructure upgrades will have to be forgone.
Odd that he cuts the tax that affects out of state travelers, but leaves the only one that affects only Hoosier, property tax.
@urcontextplease@McNally4Indiana Public figures and politicians should say what they mean.
It's very weird that you think these people say the wrong thing so often and need to rely on random commenters on the internet to explain what they really mean.
@wolfietronic356@AbbyAZK This is the second most frustrating thing.
The first is doing so well and winning the first fight and taking first point so quickly that an enemy leaves, but the game shuts down 😵💫
@BingBurber@llondonblu@JasonBassler1 If their private infrastructure requires public subsidy, or removes public access to utilities, or has negative health impact to the local ecosystem.
🇺🇸 What @SpeakerJohnson is really saying is that Congress views itself as a class that deserves protection from the economic conditions ordinary Americans are expected to live under.
When inflation destroys your purchasing power, you’re told to budget better, work harder, cut back, or accept it.
When inflation affects Congress, suddenly there is sympathy, concern about quality of life, and arguments for why they need access to stock trading and other advantages to “take care of their families.”
That’s the hypocrisy people are angry about.
Social Security recipients fall behind the real cost of living for years. Working people absorb higher housing costs, insurance bills, debt, and groceries directly. Meanwhile the political class keeps finding ways to protect itself while claiming the system cannot be changed.
That clip wasn’t just about stock trading.
It was a glimpse into how the governing class actually sees itself compared to the public.
