Hello! Please take the time to read if possible! I brought my cat to the vet today because she has been licking one spot recently and irritating it. They believe it’s due to stress/boredom and recommended I provide more enrichment. I think part of this is due to the fact that she’s confined to my room, and while it is large and plenty of space, I can see how it can get stressful after a long time. We have 2 cats and she doesn’t like him and since I have the master bedroom it was the most even split of space we could provide. Now I would live on my own but we were both in college and we could not afford it. Rehoming her (as much as it would pain me, but prioritizing her needs comes first) is also not an option as my cat is typically pretty mean to anyone who isn’t me (and even I get hurt sometimes) plus she has medical issues that’s makes her less likely to be an ideal candidate. I am going to be moving next summer so she will be the only cat in the home and will have much more space, but in the meantime I need to try and figure out what to do. The cat tree she had is now occupied by my sisters cat, and so she has a small one in my room. And when I mean small it’s only as tall as the window sill. I finally found a litterbox furniture that also has a cat tree attached to help with enrichment. I needed something that would cover her one litterbox while in my room + somehow find space for a full sized cat tree. If you want to help you can donate to my throne link and help me order it! With the government shut down I haven’t been paid in 2 months so it would really help! I will also be getting her more toys (even tho she has a lot and never uses them lol) and trying everything I can to give her the best quality of life! Thank you for reading, it was a bit of a rant as well because it stresses me out knowing I could be doing better as a pet parent. I raised her from 6 weeks old and she is my best friend <3 pics of her in the replies
