“Nigeria is not happy because Nigeria has sacrificed much for the South African struggle for independence. Nigeria sacrificed quite a lot, committed funds, committed resources to aid South Africa.

“In schools, seats were reserved for South African students. My own generation, we carried placards. We demonstrated in front of South African assets,” Odumegwu-Ojukwu said while speaking with journalists.

Far away from the noise of politics in Abuja, thousands of families in villages across the Middle Belt and Southern Nigeria go to sleep every night not knowing if they will wake up alive.

A new report released recently by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom paints a frightening picture of what is happening across Nigeria. According to the report, an estimated 30,000 armed Fulani militants are operating across the country in groups ranging from 10 to 1,000 members.
The report describes them as some of the deadliest non-state actors in Nigeria today.

He didn’t study Scripture to hunt for contradictions, he studied with a sincere heart to understand the truth, and God revealed Himself to him. You can hear it in how deeply he understands the cross and the resurrection, even more than some people who were born into Christianity. That kind of insight doesn’t come from human effort alone, it’s the work of the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus promised to send to guide us into all truth and teach us all things.

In the same way, whatever understanding I have of the Bible is not because I had a mentor or deep church exposure. I barely even used to attend church. Though I was born into a Christian home, I became zealous for the truth, to learn it and to unlearn anything about God that wasn’t truly Him. God saw that hunger, and He began teaching me through the Holy Spirit.

This is why it’s possible for someone to become a Christian today and understand Scripture more deeply than someone who has been in church for 40 years. Truth is not about how long you’ve been around religion, it’s about a heart that is willing to be taught by God.

Thank you Jesus for bringing him out of darkness into your light. 💡
