@realGolfchat Probably the most fun I’ve had playing golf in a long time. From a technical standpoint, the swing changes from the winter are working. Played some awesome courses with great people. Super stoked to play my first AM tournament in almost 15 years.
It’s pretty crazy that the 3rd hardest hole (scoring average relative to par) for the Mid-Am’s championship flight was Landmand’s wee little #8. IIRC, the yardage was 95yd and 88yd on the weekend and into a big wind. It’s such a terrifying hole!
This may be common knowledge, but for those that weren’t able to play a practice round for the Mid-Am, Bing has a aerial map of @LandmandG if that helps. It’s new enough imagery that you can see tee, bunkers, and greens. https://t.co/NL5UfsJJps
@jeffrussellmr59@LandmandG Totally agree! I can’t wait to see it grow over the next few years!
PS: I must have been close behind you today. I think those gentlemen were drinking on the patio when I finished up.
@bkusek@BradlyLoughren@ScottSzabo@openlinksgolf1@WHGC1998 Such a great hole and it’s fun to talk about. It is 45 yards wide from Wooga to Wooga at 300 yards and 75 yards wide at 250. I’m there in 2 with 4H/3W. My dispersion pattern with a D is 70 yards wide. I’ll lose a ball more often then I make eagle so lay it up it is.
@tony_chapman76 @Golfer_Jake_78 @WHGC1998 I really like these lists. It’s cool to see what resonates with people and highlights how much of golf is a personal experience. As I tell my kids, don’t yuck someone’s yum. Lawsonia was disappointing to me, but can totally see why others have it higher.
Lawsonia absolutely delivered a wonderful trip back to the Golden Age. Green complexes were fantastic. Slopes around the greens and bunkers were insane.
Another knock, and it could be due to recent weather but I wasn’t able to use the slopes much at all. Everything was hit and stop (partly due to hitting all wedges).
