Happy Heavenly 28th birthday to our Luke. His first birthday cake and his last. I cried all night on his 21st, knowing that could be his last. Exactly 2 months later, pronounced terminal. I know there is quite a party going on up there. Enjoy it, Luke. #LiveLikeluke
We lost Luke on August 22, 2019. What I remember most is how fearless he was in everything in life. Facing cancer, facing a terminal diagnosis. Had about 3 weeks to live and wanted to jump out of an airplane. I didn’t think it was such a great idea and with that Luke humor, he looked at me with a twinkle and said, “daddy, what’s the worst that could happen?” So I padded his tumors and we jumped #LiveLikeLuke
Drove from Colorado to Dallas yesterday. You drive through Amarillo-every time I am reminded of how Luke was determined to finish the “72 ouncer.” (have to eat it in 1 hour) Lady had worked there two years and had never seen someone finish it. Then again, she had never seen Luke
Always had a draft party for Luke and his buddies. After Luke passed, his buddies wanted to continue the tradition. Who wouldn’t? “Mr Laufenberg, we’ll be over so order a bunch of wings and pizza” Has been neat to watch a bunch of knucklehead kids mature into…knucklehead adults.
When “Thanksgivings” were happy. Thanksgiving Day 2018. The last Thanksgiving we would have Luke. I know he is listening to his daddy AND Brad call the game on whatever device they have up there. And has somehow figured a way to get it for free! #LLL
Today we remember and honor Luke Laufenberg on the 5th anniversary of his passing. Luke’s kindness, unselfishness, and hard work continues to live through us daily.

Still one of my favorite Luke photos. Came to Cowboys’ camp with his cousin and John Garvey and was terminal-would live just 16 days after this photo. But hard pressed to find a bigger smile on someone. And I do believe that is Gordon Keith with the photo bomb #LiveLikeLuke
5 years ago today and still makes me laugh/cry. Luke was terminal, very few people knew, but Jason Garrett did. Luke was coming to watch Cowboys practice. 16 days before dying and he still had his sense of humor #LiveLikeLuke
It was July 9, 5 years ago today, that I threw passes to Luke. 100 degrees-wanted to work on his routes. 3 days later, went into an exam room to find out he had 2-8 weeks to live. Tumors had taken over his body. How he worked so hard on this day, I will never know #LiveLikeLuke
