Why Do Some Brands Stand Out Instantly on Social Media While Others Get Ignored?
Because they have a voice through compelling and always remember design.
I help this brand have voice.
I'm available. Let's create yours

@yettydlaw_@MTNNG@yettydlaw_ This is currently the ugly situation of the average Nigerian population. Some weeks ago @KAA_Truths@KAATRUTHS sued them, which trended. I humbly suggest you consider joining the suit against MTN on behalf of the "No -Say" Nigerian. Thank you.
I went from a boy in Aba with the fear of getting paid N1500 per design to a creative director working on complex brand projects and charging in dollars and here is what it cost me…
This might be a long read but then I hope it inspire every young person out here as we grow together.
I frequently don’t fancy sharing few part of my story because I am not a fan of from grass to grace kinda, Infact my life is 75% off media, I prefer keeping people in guess work.
But today I want to share 7 things growth cost me, it’s actually 20 in my diary but I’ll share 7 you can relate to..
🔻1. It cost me the boy who said yes to everything.
My past trained me to be available. Yes to stipends. Yes to “bro abeg just help me small.” Yes to redesigning a logo four times for a man who never planned to pay.
I k!!ll that boy. And some nights I still miss him, because he was kind in a way I cannot afford to be anymore.
But then I had to k!!ll him because he was gullible and people used him.
🔻2. It cost me friendships that could not survive my new calendar.
Nobody tells you growth is a quiet funeral.
There was no fight. No betrayal. Just a group chat I stopped replying to because I was up at 2am fixing a brand system, and one day I looked up and the chat had moved on without me. I have lost countless friends that I wish they are still here because I loved their company so much.
You don’t lose people loudly. You lose them slowly, one unanswered message at a time.
🔻3. It cost me my body.
Generator fumes. Cyber café nights. Eating once and calling it discipline. I was proud of the exhaustion because it looked like ambition.
I Remember the week I went all through without sleep, like I didn’t visit a bed.. crazy
I lost so much weight and till now I’m still finding balance.
But now I am learning to rest, I’m learning to relax, I am learning to sleep at night at least the little I can, and my body is still suspicious of me. It doesn’t believe I have changed.
🔻4. It cost me being understood at home.
They see the laptop. They don’t see the many rejected proposals. They see “dollars.” They don’t see the three months I went without a single client.
So when the money comes they call me blessed, and when it doesn’t come they call me lazy. Both hurt, because both are guesses.
🔻5. It cost me the joy of small wins. My biggest cost…
I remember screaming in my room when a client paid N15,000. Real screaming. My chest was full.
Now a bigger invoice lands, thousands in dollars and I just: move to the next task.
That celebration muscle got quiet, and I am still trying to teach it to talk again. I’ve done alot and I just shut up and move to the next…
🔻6. It cost me the permission I was waiting for.
There was no moment where someone tapped me and said “you are ready now.” No cosign. Nobody then believed 100% that “this one will make it.”
I had to give myself the permission. That is a lonely gift to hand yourself, but it is the only one that never expires.
🔻7. It cost me the option of going back.
This is the heaviest one and is one you need to learn.
Once you have seen what your work is actually worth, you cannot un-see it.
Growth is a door that locks behind you. So you keep walking.
Not because you are brave, but because there is nowhere else to stand,
Apex is an illusion cause when you get to one you discover you just started another that will lead to a bigger one.(Read Twice)
Which can you relate to?
Let’s keep doing 10X!
