Let me pray this for someone out there. It’s not for everyone. “Very soon, those who did not believe in you, and looked down on you, will look up to you.” And when that time comes, instead of paying them back, you will do them good and show mercy”
Let me try and explain why cancers happen and why anyone reading this Tweet can have Cancer BUT you can lower your risk.
Let's start with What happens in the normal body.
Everyday you are alive, your cells are dividing and performing functions. every part of your body is made of cells with different roles.
The body has a clock , every cell has a born date and has a destruction date. there are 2 ways the body destroy cells.
One way is When it is time, the body tells cells...IT IS TIME. You need to die. There are some soldiers that go and destroy these cells that are worn out, some cells die themselves because it is time. A process called APOPTOSIS.
The body just like every machine can make mistakes, while dividing some cells might have abnormal parts or missing parts, BUT It has a Checkpoint. Any cells that are abnormal don't pass this gate. right there... BOOOM. The body destroys them. You don't want abnormal cells DIVIDING
BUT CANCER
Same cells, but when it is time to die, they don't die, these cells become like Methuselah, omnipotent. they are living forever.
Some funny things about them, if normal cells are dividing at a rate of 1, cancer cells are diving at a rate of 1 million. if 1 cells can divide to 10, cancer cells can divide to 1 billion.
For every cell there is a gate, so you don't enter into another cell.
Cancer cells are like those boys driving Lexus ES 350 2009, they crash into everyone. something called METASTASIS
Cancer cells get so powerful, they dodge the soldiers, the body is trying to kill them. they are too powerful, too much, traveling at a speed of light.
BUT WHY DO CANCER CELLS happen?
from everything explained you will see anything that can damage cells can increase these cells from behaving abnormal
- From problem of the body itself, radiation, family history, some substances can directly cause the cells to cancer eg Asbestos used in Roof- Lung Cancer, smoking- lung and more, alcohol- liver cancer etc
we also know there are some viruses, bacteria etc that can make cells turn to cancer eg
HIV- Many cancers
H pylori- Cancer of the stomach
HPV- Cancer of the cervix, penis, oesophagus, throat and more....
so in summary you can see why anyone can have cancer, which are abnormal cells dividing abnormally and can travel distance anywhere....
But how do I reduce my risk of cANCER?
I will be dropping part 2
Please do share , repost, I will be glad to take questions.
Thanks
Once you pass your 20s as a man - certainly your 30s (which is a transition period) - a romance where you "grow and build a life together" isn't realistically an option anymore
You've likely already built a life for yourself, and developed psychologically to the point where finding someone who will help you form an identity as a man is unlikely
You only have two types of relationships remaining:
- companionship (generally a peer-aged woman who you enjoy spending time with and can support each other's independently developed lives)
- patronage (generally a younger woman you have a polarized but role-based and paternalistic relationship with, who you take care of)
While very different in nature, both of these are fundamentally pragmatic relationships - the idealistic, wholly romantic type disappears, because it can only exist when there is no certainty of who we are and what we want in our woman
Even these marriages, when they do not fail from their own idealism, evolve as we age - at their worst into a comfortable yet dysfunctional complacency; at their best into a synthesis of the two other types. A man who commands authority emerges from the carefree boy, and the girl who once fell simply for his fun and charisma now also comes to respect him as a leader. Yet this girl is also a resilient woman now who's earned her own stature through her wisdom and time in the trenches with you
Almost ironically, this marriage, as it loses its own idealism, ends up emerging as a kind of amour others idealize as time goes on - a foundation of foolish puppy love, blooming into a "king and queen" type partnership, with mutual trust and respect for each others' place within it
Be grateful if you are one of the lucky ones who found someone at a young enough age where you could experience an innocent love worthy of maturation like this
Getting rarer and rarer to find as time
goes on, and people delude themselves into thinking they can wait forever to find it. Because they can't. The trend is towards transactional relationships for a reason: the ship has sailed on the rest
I’m glad everyone is seeing the danger Afenyo-Markin’s class narrative poses to our country. The idea that by becoming politicians they must have a bipartisan pact to never hold each other accountable; that the rest of the population must face the law but politicians must not is a dangerous idea that would lead to the very collapse of the fourth republic.
It would spell doom for all who are viewed as beneficiaries of that pact. As I have often repeated, that man remains the single most dangerous individual for the principles of equality, fairness, probity and accountability enshrined in our constitution.
After Dr. Bawumia sacks him from the leadership of parliament (which is a matter of when, not if), that should be the highest office he holds lest Ghana be reduced to a feudal state where we worship the Markins as our gods. The man is under some delusion that politicians must not only be privileged but also worshipped. He must get a reality check.
Thank you for raising this, and I want to answer you directly, publicly, because you deserve that and so does everyone reading.
What happened to you is not right. It is not normal. It is illegal. If you are a valid NHIS member and you were charged for services and medicines the scheme covers, that is a co-payment, and no credentialed facility, public or private, is permitted to do it. Nearly GH¢400 out of your pocket at a government hospital while holding a valid card is exactly the practice we are working to end.
Two things you should know. This year alone, the NHIA has paid approximately GH¢1.46 billion in claims to facilities across the country, public, private and mission, so that they are reimbursed and have no reason to charge you at the counter. And we have reviewed and increased tariffs, which had been left untouched for years, so that reimbursement now reflects the real cost of treating conditions like malaria, medicines included. The excuse for charging illegally is gone.
So please let us make this right. Call our call centre or send us a DM with your receipts and the facility's name, and we will act on it.
And to everyone reading: this is exactly what you must report. Do not pay quietly and walk away. Tell us, with your evidence, and we will deal with it. That is the only way we end it, together. 🇬🇭
We were studying Numbers 13 and 14 this morning, and I told my family this story again.
When I was posted to Anambra State for NYSC, I was later deployed to Onitsha. I had been rejected at my place of primary assignment, so I was staying with an older corps member, Lanre, opposite Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS).
Every evening, we would gather at the DMGS compound, and some corps members would tell us about “the reality of the land.”
“Corpers here don't eat meat.”
“We don't eat fish.”
“Life here is hard.”
Bla bla bla. 😅
One evening, I couldn't take it anymore. I challenged the speaker:
“My own corper life will be different. I will eat fish. I will eat meat. I will buy a TV and video player—back then, owning those was a big-boy thing. I will live in a flat. And if I tarry in this land, I will buy a car.”
They laughed.
Look at this dreamer! 😂
Someone who didn't even have a place to work was talking about eating meat, buying a TV and living in a flat.
Well, the following day, I received news that I needed to travel to Lagos for an interview.
I went to Lagos, got the job and was reposted back to Onitsha, Anambra State.
With that job, I became one of the highest-paid corps members around.
I ate fish.
I ate meat.
I got my TV and video.
I lived in a flat.
And something even more beautiful happened:
I started feeding other corps members at DMGS.
This morning, while studying the story of the twelve spies in Numbers 13 and 14, I remembered that experience.
Ten spies saw the giants and concluded, “We can't.”
Joshua and Caleb saw the same land and believed, “We can.”
Sometimes, the people around you are not lying about the difficulties. They are simply describing the land according to the limits of what they can see.
Don't allow another person's experience to become the prophecy over your own life.
You may be standing in the same land, facing the same giants, but your story can still be different.
Be careful who describes your land to you.
I woke up this morning thinking about galamsey again.
We grew up with gold beneath our land. I remember my mother telling me stories about how, when it rained in Obuasi, they would sometimes see traces of gold in the earth.
Ghana has always been known for its gold, and I do not deny that galamsey has existed in some form for many years.
But when did it get this bad?
When did we begin placing gold above human lives?
When did we decide that destroying our water bodies, land, forests and agriculture was worth it?
When did we decide that the present mattered more than the future?
When did we decide that galamsey was partisan, and that somehow, its consequences would also choose a political side?
When will this conversation stop being political and become national?
When did greed become who we are?
You clearly didn’t read the scripture you’re quoting.
Because if you did, you wouldn’t make it look like everything went honky dory for David afterward.
The baby died.
His own son raped his most beautiful daughter.
His favorite son then killed the son that raped that daughter.
Same favorite son led a rebellion against him and became king.
Same favorite son slept with his wives and concubines in public.
Same favorite son died a gruesome death despite David’s pleadings for his life to be spared.
David was publicly disgraced and made to flee his kingdom like a vagabond, pelted with stones on the way.
And that wasn’t all he suffered.
All these repercussions happened to him over a period of more than a decade.
Despite being forgiven.
So if you like settle for the David kind of forgiveness.
Women are really smarter than we give them credit for. 😂
Everything they do for a man, or anything concerning a man, seems to come with a carefully worded set of conditions. “If I genuinely love him.” “When I’m comfortable with him.” “If he makes me feel safe.” “When I know his intentions are genuine.” “If he proves that he deserves it.” “When I feel emotionally connected to him.” “If he treats me well.” “When he has earned my trust.” “Men are initiators; women are reciprocators.”
There is always a prerequisite, a condition, or a threshold that has to be crossed before the woman is expected to give anything. You have to love your man before you spoil him. You have to feel safe before you open up. You have to trust him before you become vulnerable. You have to be comfortable before you start going out of your way for him.
Yet somehow, a man who has just met you, exchanged numbers with you, and started talking to you is expected to start demonstrating “intentionality” immediately. He is expected to spend, pursue, plan, prove his seriousness, show consistency, and make you feel special before he has even been given enough time or opportunity to establish whether there is anything worth investing in. 😂😂😂
The asymmetry is fascinating. The woman’s effort is often presented as something a man must first earn, while the man’s effort is treated as something he should demonstrate from the very beginning.
God sees all. 😂
and if you look at your background and realize your family is just getting by, that your parents aren't wealthy, then pay close attention.
if you know that if everyone in your family came together today, you still couldn't raise like $5-10k within 24 hrs, stay out of unnecessary trouble, this is free advice. this isn't the season for la vida loca or living recklessly. this is the season to step into the arena and build yourself.
i'll always tell the youngins the truth, look poverty does far more damage than most people realize.
if a brother, sister or parent needed urgent surgery tomorrow and your entire family still couldn't afford it, that's a reality you can't ignore.
i've heard stories of people who landed life changing opportunities abroad, even free visas, but couldn't afford the flight ticket cos nobody in the fam had the money. if you know this could easily be your story, let it fuel your hunger. disappear when you have to, somedays just put your phone away and spend the days learning, building, working and becoming someone ur future self will thank you for.
the cost of being a young man without money or a strong support system can be unforgiving. don't waste your most important years. pay attention to profiles like sir chris.
buena suerte 👍
I know a couple that's celebrating 50 years of marriage this year.
Year 4 the guy cheated on her.
He actually left for months & even moved in with the other woman.
The enemy thought he delivered a knock out blow to this family & they would be fractured forever.
The wife was told by family & friends to LEAVE THAT SCUMBAG & that she deserved better.
Instead of get angry, she went all-in on her own faith & looked within.
She had mentees in the church that help her discover that she was 50% to blame for him cheating.
Control, nagging day in & day out, never offering encouragement--- what did you expect one of the elders in the church asked her?
I can't imagine how difficult that was to admit any fault when you were the one cheated on & wronged, but she did.
She sought the Lord's forgiveness for part.
She blasted praise music & lived in the Bible for the next many months.
When this man would come around to see his kids she harbored zero resentment & to this day the man will say I NOTICED THIS DEEP JOY & PEACE IN HER........ I LONGED FOR IT TOO.
After many months this man ended it with that other woman & came with an offer,
"I don't deserve it, but whatever you have I want. I want to start going to church too. I want to learn how to be a great husband & dad. I want to start new with God in the middle."
46 years later.
RESTORED.
LEGACY OF LOVE, HONOR, & COMMITMENT.
Many have been inspired by these two people & the fruit they've produced over the years has impacted millions of lives!
Many call them heroes.
I call these 2 people MOM & DAD. ❤️🙏
Radical ownership sets you free.
I wonder in the church today would many women offer that same advice my mom got?
Look at what they would have missed out on?!
