3 reasons you continue watching a film.

Information - Give enough to ask questions, but not enough to answer them.

Tension - it's a thin wire. Hold the audience in suspense & relieve them over time.

Chaos - It's always solved by the end of the film, but we don't know how yet.

Here’s a thread to help you break out of a creative rut.

1) Get it out on paper. Create a brain dump to see it visually. When you visually see words in front of you, the dots connect more easily.

It will inspire you, it’s as simple as that. And I'm not saying copy what you watched, read, or listened to, but instead, see how you would’ve approached it based on your style.

Past Lives was one of my favourite films of 2023.

The story, emotion & tension on top of the cinematography made it a masterpiece.

@waronweakness In Steve Jobs (2015) everyone believed Jobs was fired from Apple, when in fact he left the company.

John Sculley (CEO) confronted Jobs, saying he received hate mail, because everyone thought he fired Jobs.

Steve Wozniak (co-founder) also said Jobs wasn’t fired. He walked out.
