Hi, I'm Samuel Jonathan.
Here's some interesting stuff about me:
>went to a military all-boys secondary school (don't worry, I'm cool now).
>declined my admission, stayed home for three yrs until I got Accountancy.
>figured I don't like Accountancy in my 2nd year.
So...
@brightafia I believe one of the dumbest thing ever invented is "career".
I mean, I just want to know how to do things...a lot of them.
I salute you broski.
Keep winning.
Cheers.
“Are you born again?”
“Yes”
“Have you received the gift of the Holy Spirit? Do you speak in tongues?”
“No I don’t”
“Please come this way because we need to pray for you”
That’s how I saw four pastors round me while I was in their midst, they were all praying, kabashing and laying hands on me so I’d speak in tongues.
Few minutes later they stopped praying and asked me to start speaking in tongues.
I tried, I battled with my spirit to open my mouth and start speaking in tongues but nothing was forthcoming coming, I didn’t want to fake it and I don’t know how to fake it.
They kept pressuring me to speak in tongues, in my head I was like “I can’t force it naw”
When they saw that I was still quiet, the prayer intensified, that’s how they prayed for me for another 10 mins and I just stood there looking at them and they eventually gave up.
Honestly, I wanted to pretend and speak in tongues so it wouldn’t seem like their prayers didn’t work, but it felt so so wrong for me to do so.
Speaking in tongues is not mandatory.
It is a gift and not everyone will have that gift.
And not being able to speak in tongues does not mean you’re inferior.
You feel like giving up because:
You THINK you must prove your worth (to people and yourself) by DOING something.
Here's what nobody told you:
No amount of what you DO can fill in for who you ARE.
When you try to "make it" out of pressure (that everyone is making it)...
You miss the whole point.
Here's the point:
No amount of what you do can make you feel any better of yourself.
So:
You may want to find peace in that (above) and build from there.
Cheers.
How to stay focused (on X):
Stay in your zone.
Here's what I mean:
When you log onto X, go to your profile, stay there, and tweet until you're done.
It stops endless scrolling.
Cheers.
If you'll start to feel good only when:
>you hit the money goal
>you bag the massive deals.
>you build the unbelievable company.
Newsflash: you'll never feel good.
Nothing outside of yourself can make you into who you already are.
Fix it from the inside.
