The depart of a good person is truly so heart-wrenching and divine at the same time.
That bundle of love which came to this world only to care for others, the world feels the absence of them. It doesn’t matter if it has been a short time or a long time. Their presence in this world is not forgotten by Bhagavan. Everyone else, even the atma itself may forget that lifetime. But Bhagavan doesn’t forget. He always remembers. Every act of kindness. Every act of love. Every act of positivity and joy that one has spread in the world. Bhagavan remembers it all and keeps each memory in His heart. This is why every moment is important here and time so short. To move Bhagavan’s heart. To make Sri Hari your own. To make Him constantly remember your life here. How few days one has to accomplish so much. The opportunities are constantly given. Don’t forget to enjoy your time here. Life is a great joy. As two very dear atmas have moved entirely to the eternal realm, to Bhagavan’s sacred lotus feet. Madhavadas former swami on Sri Gayatri Jayanti, who was his own ishtadev. And Swamini Harisundari on Devi Dhumavati Jayanti, conquering the most difficult disease by keeping an open heart and surrendered mind. The sweet energy of love is amplified when good people spread their light to all. Don’t be afraid to shine the light within yourself. Open your heart. Let yourself feel the deep emotions you have. Gently work on the parts of your mind or life that scare you. And offer it all to God. Let Him pour His help on you. Don’t hold anything back. Don’t push things to a corner to look at later. Do it now. Work on your life now. Open yourself to Bhagavan’s great love now. Keep remembering Bhagavan all the time.
The completion of all the Avatars of Sri Hari that have come before is in Panduranga Vitthala.
Sri Hari’s Dashavatar are truly extraordinary. On every level, they have profound meaning, a deep resonance with the soul. The most sweet and the pinnacle of them is Bhakta Vatsala Vitthoba. Pandharinath. The father of the fallen. The friend of the downtrodden. The one who delights in serving His bhaktas. When all the Shaktis and Siddhis have been revealed to the fully surrendered atma. When loving Bhagavan is the only and forever focus of the jeevatma. When the cosmic Paramatma has become close and dear to one because the SatGuru has revealed the joy and beauty of all Avatars, Deities, and forms. When all finds its completion, only Bhakti and Prem remain. The bhakta never wants anything more than to keep their eyes at the lotus feet of the Master. And the SatGuru never wants to spend even a moment hiding from His bhakta. When the one who is outside, inside, and universally present everywhere, becomes the best friend of the atma. The one who never wants to leave the love of His devotee. How complete does that surrender have to be where the One that creates, sustains, and rejuvenates all, wants nothing more than to bring and be brought more and more into Unconditional Love. The devotee has that amazing power to bring the Master of the Universe deeper into the love they have for Him. This is the beauty of Vitthala when He awakens in the life of the bhakta. Completing the triangle around the atma; Antaryami, Cosmic Bhagavan, and the external personally present Avatar. He himself has shed every veil and covering that was keeping Himself away. He has let go of every other role and position. He has made Himself fully available to each and every person. The Beloved of His bhaktas. The Dearest to the poor ones. The Great Teacher. The bliss of the universe. SatGuru Vitthala.
As the Antar Guru awakens more and more, the brilliance of Surya Narayan and Devi radiate outward.
Light and heat, Surya dev and Divine Mother. They are both born from the Hiranyagarbha, which is the SatGuru, the golden womb of Bhagavan. The SatGuru is the Hiranyagarbha, always holding Bhagavan in the purest form; capable of bringing Him into the manifest world and making His divine potencies dormant where the ego rises. Surya dev and Divine Mother are both part incarnations of Bhagavan himself. These two Shaktis emanating from the SatGuru’s heart help creation to continue. It is only through the right balance of heat and light that life can be properly maintained. They are two sides of the same coin, always helping each other. For example, Chhathi Maiya, who is an aspect of Devi (Katyayani/Shashthi), is revered as the spiritual sister of Surya dev. Or, worshipping the Gayatri Mantra honors the illumination of Surya Narayan and the wisdom of the Divine Mother simultaneously. After the divine roar that destroys all ego and the great joy of seeing the Antaryami SatGuru manifest, His brilliance starts to shine through the bhakta. The light of wisdom and the warmth of compassion radiate through the bhakta. The less the bhakta is present, the more the SatGuru is present. If one wrestles for control or glory, He starts to hide again. His Prem is manifest when the fully illumined atma humbly lowers itself in Sharanagati to the lotus feet of the SatGuru. Enlightenment and Sharanagati are both gradual processes. What inner understanding has unfolded deeper love in your heart on this day? What will be your step towards Sharanagati today?
The SatGuru makes one complete within oneself. So that if one chooses to surrender to Him, it is truly out of pure free will. That is His great and humble eternal love.
He gives the fullness of self- and God-realization. That grace isn’t reserved for just a few people. It is open for all. But very few people truly understand its beauty and yearn for it. Because there is one point that no one can talk about other than the SatGuru. He gives the fullness of SatChitAnanda so easily to all who come to Him. It is His to give and He bestows it so freely. He opens one’s pure free will. The true choice to surrender to Him or not is given in that moment of complete freedom. Surrendering when one needs nothing from Him to be happy, because He has made one fully one with bliss. Would you still only long to place your head at His feet? How many people would still want only to surrender to His lotus feet? How many people would still wish to be small, humble, and hidden, staying exclusively as Bhagavan’s humble servants? Nothing else; just to serve endlessly. Serving in love the one who has given everything, fullness of freedom and endless bliss within one’s self. The one who has even given His own self as the eternal companion to all. But what happens after God-realization is a huge mystery. The ones who have it, never reveal it. The ones who don’t have it, can never understand until reaching it. And that endless experience of eternal companionship is given by the SatGuru only. Nobody else can do it. The personal relationship in the world, the antaryami within the soul, the cosmic infinite Sri Hari, and endless other forms. How can one actually realize God? It is thoroughly impossible. Only God can realize Himself. The ending of all personal identity and yet continued existence. Living with God-realization is a gift only the true SatGuru can give. And it follows so beautifully to all that has come before in this world. What the world can receive from Him is infinite, yet how many are awake?
Truly the one who can understand you fully and till the end, through everything, is only Paramatma.
Everyone longs for this love which can understand one to the core of one’s heart. Who can see beyond the limits of what can be conveyed through words, and love all the way constantly. Who can love beyond all boundaries and not care about the reasons for not loving. Because there are many reasons to pull away, to not love anymore. But God doesn’t think like that. He doesn’t feel that way. He loves all the time. No matter how one chooses to love Him. Whether one loves Him joyfully or treats Him painfully, He always only loves with the tenderest care. If you truly saw how much He cares and loves, it would heal all your longing for love and understanding. You would feel cared for completely. For true love and complete understanding, one can only turn to Bhagavan. The same Antaryami, the same one who is outside as the SatGuru, the same one who is in every atom of this universe. Turn to that unconditional love fully. People, no matter how much they love you, can only do so until a certain limit. It is not possible for it to be completely unconditional. Because they have their limitations and you have yours. So each one can receive love in a limitless way, without any conditions, only from inside from Bhagavan. But that love, His love is so fulfilling that it will satisfy your yearning of all lifetimes for that complete acceptance. Don’t ever think of yourself as alone or friendless. You have a home with Him. You have a friend in Him. You have a constant companion in Him. Turn to that beloved Sri Hari fully.
Often one hears that Bhagavan responds in the way that His bhakta calls Him.
This is very true. Sri Hari appeared in such a beautiful way through a small pillar as Narasimha Dev for little Prahlad. Sri Krishna came as Panduranga for Sant Pundalik. Sri Ram went out of his way when looking for Sita Devi, just to find the hut of Shabari Mata and honour her lifelong devotion and love to Himself. These incidents in the lives of the bhaktas are countless, and they continue till today, they will always continue to occur. This is Bhagavan’s deepest heart given to His beloved bhaktas. So the question for all is, how can one truly move His heart that He runs to oneself? It is when all expectations that He will come, that He should come, that He has to come, when all this falls away. Prahlad didn’t expect that Sri Hari should come out from the pillar. Shabari and Pundalik were not expecting Bhagavan to show up on their doorstep. No. They had no expectations. They had no desire to compel Him. They had absolutely no thought that Bhagavan should respond to their love. In any way. At all. Ever. This is the secret. They loved without thinking at all how He will respond, how He will come to them, nothing at all. They loved Him so that He can be glorified. So that His name can be established everywhere. So that whatever service they could do for Him, could be offered without any strings attached to His beautiful lotus feet. They had zero desire that He must come to them, but 100% desire to offer their entire self to Him. Their heart, mind, body, every breath, every atom, was offered to Him unconditionally. Their service was not an act service, because He is fully complete within Himself always. Their service was an act of gratitude. That’s why they were desperate to take on the most humble and menial of existences, just so that their enormous love could be hidden from everyone’s eyes and seen by Him alone. That too not seen by Him in person. But seen by Him within their heart. They captured Him so thoroughly in their heart that He wanted to run to them and become their forever captive. He wanted to live within the cave of their heart as a willing prisoner of their bhakti for Him. As He is without any desire except for love, their heart was the same way. They wished to just love Him. They were not trying to set examples for others, make grand proclamations to the universe, or go down in history as great saints. No. They had no concern for this at all. They were thoroughly consumed by how to continuously express their gratitude to Him, how to see a smile on His face within their heart, how to keep breaking their heart so that the space for Him inside keeps growing bigger, more loving, more warm, and filled with the joy of constant reunion. The secret of everything is love.
Accepting Hukam is not always easy, as life may present unexpected turns. However, Sikhi reminds us that Waheguru's plan surpasses our own, and trusting in Hukam can bring peace even amidst challenges.
All spiritual traditions talk about the will, the command, the instruction, adesh, or hukam of the Divine, of the SatGuru.
And often seekers of God discuss this, but how much one understands about it remains to be seen. One’s plan is always just a tiny portion of God’s plan. One cannot see the entire picture. But there is a being who can see the complete plan. There is someone who takes form and incarnates into this world who is that eternal one himself. It is this one who leads all from darkness into the light, the Sat Gu-Ru, the true eternal teacher, the eternal master. And it is only from the satguru that one can take instruction at every turn. His every word is a command to the universe. His will is what the universe waits for to act. The silent breath between two thoughts, between feeling and action, that is where the SatGuru places his command. His Adesh is the movement of energy. Every person has been given the ability to exert their willpower and see actions manifest into reality. And for the satguru, that ability encompasses all beings, all times, and all things. But this power, this complete command over the universe is not something one receives or grows into. It is something that the satguru already is. He alone is that. So one must understand how extraordinary it is when the satguru gives an instruction for one’s life. He is bringing the silence of God’s will into loving manifestation for the bhakta. And then how sad it would be to not value his effort, to not give one’s all into making his command a reality. His plan is always better than the best thing one can dream of. Trust in that universal love, trust in his eternal presence with you. Whether you flow with His word which becomes the boat of your life and He becomes your captain. Or, you fight His word and keep dashing against rocks, getting hurt, and drowning. No matter how difficult, strange, or unpleasant His word may seem on the surface, know that it is the absolute best and strongest boat to get you to the end of the river which submerges one fully in God. Never judge his word. Never set it aside for something else. Understand why the saints kept the word spoken by the Guru higher than even the saakshat darshan of Bhagavan. This one deep understanding, to follow the instruction of the SatGuru, will give you everything.
Glories be to Sri Ram, the most compassionate one.
He was known by so many names. Raghunandan. Raghav. Maryada Purushottam. Thousands of names. Yet the single call of Ram has always been enough for His bhaktas to be overcome with love. Look throughout the Dashavatar. The came and left flawlessly. Yet Sri Ram is different. He allowed others to call him flawed. To question his motives. Even till now, millennia later, many people still misunderstand him. Yet he was never wrong. Throughout all the births in this world, there have been none like Sri Ram. None even in the cosmic realm. He held himself to the highest standard but allowed others to treat him lower than low if they wished. He allowed nature to take its course in his life but stood like a dam preventing the flow of pain to others. He has silently accepted while history maligned His name. Destroyed his home again and again. Because he didn’t come to receive worship. He came to show that God is all things. Even if you throw His name into the mud. Even if you take apart His life and infiltrate it with lower thoughts. No matter how much you stand against Him. His works slowly reveal the truth. Again and again. Throughout the ages bhaktas have come and gone who have loved Ram beyond everything else. Because they understood the priceless value of a heart that has been pierced with arrows of judgement yet still radiates only the utmost gentle love. Such is the divinity of Ram. One only needs to turn to Ram once and the heart is shocked by the intensity of His presence and love. Hanumanji has stayed in this world to constantly bring this deep truth outward into the world. The story that Hanumanji personally witnessed and narrated to Goswami Tulsidasji is beyond compare. There were no decisions of injustice. No pain delivered to others. No one who was unhappy because of Ram. But Ram himself silently bore the stones cast in His direction through the long years that have passed since His incarnation. Again look at the Dashavatar, the eternal relationship between Lord Shiva and Bhagavan Sri Hari is most gloriously revealed in the Ram Avatar. Why? Because Bhagavan came so vulnerably. So complete yet so hidden in His divinity. So much hidden that people still wonder if He hurt his most dear one in the most atrocious way possible. Ask your heart, “Can my Sri Ram truly be as He has been portrayed by fools? Or, have imperfect minds fabricated a history that can allow Ram to be pulled down from His perfect pedestal?” The one who didn’t seek any pedestals but deserves all of them. Such is my Sri Ram.
The beauty of Hanuman.
We have heard so many stories of Hanumanji, can learn endless wisdom from him. But people often create a distance in their mind that they can never learn the qualities that the great bhaktas learned. But why this weakness? Bhagavan openly distributes grace to all. It all depends on how one receives life from Him. Remember the story of when Narad muni got a monkey face from Bhagavan Sri Hari. People often take it as a prank that the Lord played on Narad muni to reduce his ego because everyone laughed heartily looking at Narad muni’s monkey face. Narad muni was exceedingly hurt and got very angry but such a sweet revelation and blessing was hidden in that by the Lord. The face of Hari, the face of a monkey. The face of Hanuman is the face of Sri Hari and that was given to Narad. For just a little while. But blessings often don’t come with a signpost that says, “This is a blessing, be grateful, enjoy it.” Often they come disguised as problems, beatings from life, and difficult lessons. Did Narad muni understand the blessing then? No. He too got upset. Felt humiliated. Felt cast aside and striped of his dignity. But to receive anything of Hanuman for even a moment, if he was asked in that manner, which bhakta would refuse? Every story of God has deeper and deeper revelations. Every word of the SatGuru has deeper and deeper blessings within them. On Hanuman Jayanti, take heart and go with full force on the path, like Hanumanji does to fulfill the work of Sri Ram. Know that through the Name, the Mantra given to you, the SatGuru is always with you, the way Hanuman constantly holds his beloved Sri Ram close in his heart. Learn to look at the blessing in everything. Jai Sri Ram, Jai Hanuman.
Love, nurturing, softness, gentleness of spirit are often seen as feminine. Strength, determination, action, and support are seen as masculine.*
But look at Hanumanji, bhakti and prem moving in perfect symphony with strength and action. Look at Ma Kaalratri, the fiercest, beyond anyone’s control, burned by the world. But with the softest, most gentle heart, never for a second hurting anyone. Yamuna-Giridhariji so gentle on the outside yet filled with the flowing river of transformation inside. Why should any of these qualities be limited by anything? The world needs to move beyond outer boundaries. Man-woman, lesser-greater, good-bad, all these polarities exist only within the world. Beyond this world where everyone has truly come from, only energy matters. How you were here is how you will experience existence there. So if you stayed within the false limitations of this world and never tried to see the love that has taken shape as everything, then even after death there won’t be an ability to see that permanently. You will need more experiences here to get to that place of true non-judgment.
We are celebrating Yamuna-Giridhari, Hanumanji, Sri Ram, the SatGuru, Ma Kaalratri and other forms of the Divine at the same time. But is there anything out of balance or out of synchronicity with each other? They are all endless facets of the same Divine. An eternal diamond with more and more shining refractions in every moment. Learn to see the same movement of Divinity within every celebration of God. It exists in all moments. And thus every moment can become a golden moment of your life.
Navaratri comes four times a year with 2 of them often being Gupt (hidden).
Chaitra Navaratri (around March-April) is celebrated close to the new year of the Sanatan Dharma. It includes the celebration of Sri Ram Navami, the appearance of Bhagavan Sri Ram in this world. Sharad Navratri (around September-October) is the most widely celebrated Navratri, concluding with Dussehra marking the victory of Sri Ram over the terrible asura Ravan. The other two Navaratri are celebrated around January-February and June-July. The four together mark the various seasons and blessings bestowed by Bhagavan at those times. Some are celebrated intensely, while others remain mostly hidden. Sometimes the Divine Mother enters one’s life subtly, not perceived by the mind. This is often the way the SatGuru takes. Hidden from the mind and under the radar of conscious perception. This His Gupt, secret, grace. Don’t think that you can understand the Master. It’s not possible. Just as it is impossible to understand the Divine Mother and how She leads all Her children in such different ways. Yet to the same destination, Bhagavan’s Lotus Feet. People judge things based on the outside. But the SatGuru is unconcerned by this. His eyes are forever fixed on the eternal. He is the grace that flows from Bhagavan. He is the mercy that leads one back to Sri Hari. He is within the circle of life and beyond it. He is the triangle of personal Deity, Antaryami, and cosmic Parabrahman. How to understand that which cannot be understood? This realization itself is the presence of the Master as the Divine Mother. During Navaratri, the SatGuru leads everyone into the softness of the heart, the fierceness of self-transformation, and the ultimate self-sacrifice into Love. May all offer that restless mind into the most loving arms of Maa. Shubh Navaratri.
Many blessings on Ugadi, Gudi Padva, and Chaitra Navaratri.
The new year has officially started and winter has softly passed by. The cold and subtle dormancy has given birth to a vibrant and new spring. This is the constant rejuvenation of the world. One should learn from this. Let go of old patterns. Leave the past in the past. Welcome the present with an open heart and grateful spirit. Then true joy and peace can manifest. The atma’s relationship with the SatGuru is as old as time itself but also always new. Vibrate in the frequency of ever increasing love. With a heart that finds great peace in simply being devoted to His Lotus Feet. Loving is far more important than being loved in this world. Recognize this truth from the Divine Mother. She is always in the Mudra of giving. Whether as nature, in her form of a worldly mother, or even Her Vigrahas. All are constantly bestowing grace to move closer to Unconditional Love. It is so important to be joyful on the spiritual path. Don’t take things so seriously that you lose your joy. Bhagavan is Ananda, bliss itself. His entire countenance is blissful. Find a reason to be happy every single day. Each day arisen in this world brings joy with it. Whether hidden or overt, direct or indirect. But the love of Bhagavan bestowing His bliss manifests everyday. May He bless all the bhaktas to see these moments of joy in each day. Wish all a wonderful new year and Chaitra Navaratri.
When you focus on the Lotus Feet of the SatGuru with complete laser-pointed intensity, do you know what happens within the core of your self?
Every single thing the SatGuru gives is so full of wisdom and love. But are people willing to see this? Everyone wants to debate and doubt the SatGuru. Everyone wants to find things that He is saying that “align” or “don’t align” with this scripture or that path. Why can’t you just drop from the mind into the heart and see with the eyes of wisdom rather than useless debating. When the SatGuru says to focus completely on the Lotus Feet, to focus only on Sri Hari, what happens within you have you bothered to find out? So foolishly people don’t bother to deeply contemplate on the words of the SatGuru. They don’t bother to go into the deep divine experience He is always giving. People just take His words superficially, read few scriptures, and repeat other’s words foolishly. But if you ask them the deepness of it, they have never bothered to experience. Instead of parroting foolish beliefs, go deep into the words of the SatGuru and transform yourself.
When you focus with laser-pointed intensity on the Lotus Feet of the SatGuru, the point of your ‘self’ also changes. You stop identifying with anything that is within your petty limited self and you start correctly identifying yourself as the dust of your SatGuru’s Lotus Feet more than anything else. The SatGuru is truly wise, however, the genius of His words is completely hidden in simplicity and humility. Unlike the superficial scholars of the outside who beat the drum of their shallow knowledge everywhere.
By asking us to focus on Sri Hari’s Lotus Feet with laser sharp single-pointed focus, the SatGuru changes the focus of our self-concept from the limited sense within us to the infinite presence of Sri Hari. From the misery of the ego inside to the bliss of Sri Hari everywhere. From the selfishness of the inside to the selflessness of Sri Hari’s Prem in all. The sense of self inside you needs to come to an end so that your eternal presence at Sri Hari’s Lotus Feet can awaken. But people are so afraid of their small self ending that they feel they themselves are getting destroyed. They become terrified of what they are losing and become insecure about their lives. What are you losing? Your flaws, karmas, sorrow, anger, lust, greed, depression, loneliness, emptiness, and fears? What are you insecure about? About growing into bliss, true and lasting peace, genuine loving connection with everyone, seeing Bhagavan’s presence everywhere? In spirituality you lose nothing and gain everything. Not understanding this simplicity of the spiritual path just shows how deeply deluded and ignorant people are, even so-called bhaktas. Yet everyone wants to debate, doubt, and act as though they know everything there is to know.
Don’t go into your room petty ego. Grow. Transform. Become your true self. Realize your atma and the true purpose of your life here. And for that entire journey from the mind to the heart to the atma to transpire, keep chanting Sri Vitthal Giridhari’s Name. Again and again and again and again. Until the Name is all that remains inside of you.
Thy support.” Guru Gobind Singh Ji describes the purpose of his coming to the world and why he emerged from the Supreme Reality in human form to carry out his Creator’s command. He states, “For this purpose was I (Guru Gobind) born. Let all virtuous people understand. I was born to advance righteousness, to emancipate the good, and to destroy all evil-doers root and branch.”
His father, the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, was martyred for the faith in protecting the Kashmiri Pandits. He saw them as equal to his own followers, there was no discrimination in his heart at all. He was truly the embodiment of Prem. And his son, the tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, was the same. A Saint with exemplary love and dedication to help everyone realize their true purpose for coming to this world. All four of his sons (Chaar Sahibzaade) were martyred for the faith. His mother, Mata Gujari, passed away in prison at the hands of the cruel tyrants at the age of 81. He lost so many of his closest family members, dearest Sikhs, and beloved friends. Just to uphold the True Dharma of Unconditional Love for God and service to all through self-sacrifice. Guru Gobind Singh was the Tenth Sikh Guru, son of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, grandson of Guru Hargobind Ji, great-grandson of Guru Arjan Dev Ji (the fifth Sikh Guru). The one who sacrificed everything for the protection of unconditional love in this world.
So many extraordinary events marked the life of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The martyrdom of his father, the martyrdom of all four of his sons, the martyrdom of his mother, the martyrdom of many dearest ones. The initiation of the Panj Pyare. Starting the institution of the Khalsa. The sending of the Zafarnama (letter of declaration of victory) to the evil tyrant overlord in Delhi which touched the overlord’s heart to change his disgusting and cruel ways. So many incredible miracles of love. The Guru also helped the young son of the overlord to become a good leader to his people. Yet, the group of invaders was filled with individuals who were abhorrently cruel and twisted in their thinking. One of them was worried that the Guru and his followers would make a come back and become very difficult to deal with once again. So he sent mercenaries to chase after the Guru and his group of Sikhs. One of them stabbed the Guru and he never fully recovered from this injury. It was now clear to the Guru that the call of his beloved Waheguru had come. He prepared the community for his departure. He opened the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, placed five coins on it and solemnly bowed to it as his successor. He solemnly spoke, “Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh. Agya bhai Akal ki tabhi chalayo Panth Sabh Sikhan ko hukam hai Guru manyo Granth Guru Granth Ji manyo pargat Guran ki deh Jo Prabhu ko milbo chahe khoj shabad mein le Raj karega Khalsa aqi rahei na koe Khwar hoe sabh milange bache sharan jo hoe.” (“All victory, all people (Khalsa) belong to the Waheguru. O beloved Khalsa, let him who desireth to behold me, behold the Guru Granth. Obey the Granth Sahib. It is the visible body of the Gurus. And let him who desires to meet me, search me in the hymns. Under orders of the Immortal Being, the Panth was created. All the Sikhs are to accept the Granth as their Guru. Consider the Guru Granth as embodiment of the Gurus. Those who want to meet God, can find Him in its hymns. The Khalsa shall rule, and its opponents will be no more. Those separated will unite and all the devotees shall be saved.”) Shame on them who don’t understand the SatGuru’s truly loving ways and project their own disgusting selfishness on Him. Even when the SatGuru continuously reminds everyone that the Sanatan Dharma is not known by a single name, single deity, single religious text, or single religious person, still people don’t understand. They speak unkindly, use curse words, hold despicable thoughts of hatred, and behave terribly towards others.
Suffering is a wake up call.
Most people are stuck in their own versions and perspectives on life. They don’t wish to rise above and see the universal eternal truths. They make their peace with the constant ups and downs of life, and don’t try to go beyond them towards true everlasting happiness. When all is said and done, the core reason for this behavior is that one has not hit the rock bottom of suffering where there is nothing left but to go up. When suffering becomes too unbearable, there won’t be a single person who will sit still and do nothing. When someone is dying of thirst, they will do anything to get a drop of water. If someone is drowning, they will give anything to get a single breath of air. Suffering in life is that very important reminder of something hitting rock bottom which needs to be transformed, needs to be elevated.
As long as you are satisfied with the status quo, as long as you don’t feel a burning need to change, you won’t. You will keep making peace with the unfavorable, unpleasant situations. You will keep sacrificing more and more of your temporary happiness because you are unwilling to fight for eternal happiness. This is the simple reality of life. Especially when the atma is really longing to get over many issues and emerge fully purified and polished in front of its Maker, it requests that hardships come into its earthly life. So that it can wash away all those karmas with the sacred waters of Bhagavan’s Bhakti and Prem. Towards such an atma, the SatGuru also doesn’t hold back any grace. Everything is poured out to help them on their spiritual journey back to God. Don’t look at suffering as an unpleasant thing to get over by any means necessary. Breathe. Become calm. See the deeper reason hidden in that suffering. And elevate yourself. Transform. When you emerge from that transformation like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, life will be fully divinized. The greatest heaven, paradise, Vaikuntha itself will be manifest for you right here. And this is the living breathing reality of the Saints. They looked at their suffering with loving detachment and joyful acceptance. Allowing true transformation to take place in their lives.
We are going to start the Guru Gita course soon.
To truly love Bhagavan, you need to become fully pure. But purity isn’t reached just like that. To shed that which is stuck in your blind spots, that which you have forgotten about, you need a crystal clear mirror in front of you. The SatGuru is that mirror. He simply Is. And in His presence one learns to look at oneself thoroughly. Many parts one doesn’t want to see. Many parts one wants to run away from. But you cannot avoid them forever. Whether in this life, the next, or countless lifetimes from now, you will eventually have to deal with all of it. The wholeness of the self is illuminated by the SatGuru. He doesn’t force you to change. He is freedom itself. And in the presence of true freedom, all barriers naturally break. The mind automatically starts to get divinized when the true SatGuru is around.
The Guru Gita is Bhagavan Shankar and Mata Parvati’s great gift to everyone. It is timeless wisdom, unending freedom, and overflowing bliss. May all immerse themselves in Prem and Bhakti, finding their lives fully transformed into everlasting happiness.

When the SatGuru says to be completely in the present moment, it is more than simple advice. It is the only place where the mind, heart, body, and soul find true peace. When one fully realizes that being present in the here and now is the only place that one wants to be. Not in memories of the past nor in dreams of the future, then the words of the SatGuru will reveal their true depth. Be in the present moment. The mind is usually very overworked. One analyzes every little thing, thinks about thousands of things jumping from one to the other, making it impossible for the mind to relax. The heart is usually ignored and its feelings are doubted, making it work so hard to speak and have its voice heard. The body is pushed in unhealthy ways and one’s doesn’t honor it as a Temple of Bhagavan, very few people truly listen to what their body is saying and utilize the great gift of life to learn to love unconditionally. In all this chaos, the atma’s voice is totally lost. One only listens to the voice of the mind and forgets to listen to the heart, body, and atma. But they too are continuously talking to us and if we would just stop and listen, we would know how to align them all together and make our life a success. When the body, mind, heart, and atma are in alignment, when they are focused only on one point, life starts flowing naturally. However, for that to happen, one has to let go of the overemphasis on the mind and the undervaluing of the other aspects of the self. If one is living in the past or the future, one will never be able to calm down enough to even truly know that the body, heart, and atma have voices of their own. The body knows when it needs to slow down and when it can work hard. It knows when its energy and lifespan are being used to move in the right direction and when they are being wasted. The heart knows what makes it feel a sense of contentment and happiness that is different from the competitiveness and comparisons of the mind. The heart keeps the conscience alive and makes itself known through intuition. The atma’s voice is very soft and subtle. It is very, very few people who truly work on themselves completely to reach the point where the atma’s voice can be truly heard. Most people only live in delusions and hypocritically preach about the atma when they themselves know nothing about it. And beyond all these is the subtlest of subtle, softer than soft, the voice of Bhagavan. The voice of Paramatma. The voice of the SatGuru. To hear the Anahat, unstruck, primordial, eternal voice of Bhagavan is not possible without His grace, even if one has reached the voice of the atma. Imagine the level of deepness, complete alignment within oneself, and single-pointed Sharanagati one would need to attract Him to reveal Himself within. People are very often deluded about this and think that they are capable of hearing His voice within. One should never hold such grand thoughts about oneself. It will cause one to fall down badly sooner or later.
The SatGuru’s words pierce through and connect all these different levels. Hence, listening to the SatGuru’s words is absolutely crucial, because He brings all into harmony and connection. To be in complete alignment within oneself means to truly surrender to His Lotus Feet, and for that one needs to be fully present in the now. Surrender cannot happen in the past or the future. To offer the flower of Sharanagati to the SatGuru’s Lotus Feet, one needs to be completely aligned within oneself and completely present in the here and now. Keep making your efforts to reach there through Japam and contemplation upon the SatGuru’s words.
