I met a lil hustler on the streets of Lagos. Liked his spirit and Showed him a glimpse of whatโs possible. I know this oneโs gonna be great, I asked for a picture.
Reminds me 2019.

StarTimes call center.
Mondays through Saturdays.
Morning shift: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Evening shift: 3:00pm - 7:30pm
Customers would insult the living hell out of you for calling them and reminding them about their StarTimes decoder/service.
From basic-fixed salary at month end to salary based on number of calls per month.
Their call router is always down, so you have to manually dial the numbers fetched from an Excel document by you onto the dialler.
A successful call means you spoke with the customer, using the specified guidelines, and the QA is always listening to your calls to take note.
Sometimes, you will dial 50 numbers, and none of them would connect (at a stretch), with time running fast.
If you successfully make 80 calls per day, glory be to God.
At month end, after all the stress, rainfall beating you, jumping through Oshodi buses, and insults from customers, many of my colleagues end up with N25k.
I was doing it for the experience.
I don't wish such a job on anyone.
Those who worked as customer care representatives would understand.
Those working with Multichoice were doing great, had free busses that bring them to work and take them home, but StarTimes - only for their main staffs, contract staffs are on their own ๐๐
We came in through HR - MacTay.
Hell of an experience ๐๐
My father is Nigerian. My mother is Filipino.
It gets weirder.
My grandmother on my mother side has more spanish blood than Filipino blood and my grandfather on my mother side has Japanese blood.
โMy mom's grandfather, Al-Hassan Dantata was the richest West African during his time. My own late grandfather, Sanusi Dantata was actually the richest Nigerian at some point.โ
