Should energy suppliers not all be charging the same price during this unprecedented time?! It doesn’t seem fair that certain people are going to be worse than worse off because their suppliers prices are higher.

@MartinSLewis @MoneySavingExp how come we are in the middle of an energy crisis but everyone has got different unit rates and daily standing charges from 01st October 22. Why aren’t we allowed to change energy suppliers when there is still competitive prices in the market?

My new electric rate with Shell Energy is UR 34.906p & DSC 56.16p. However my mam who is supplied by EON has a new UR of 50.09p and DSC 49.93p. This means based on 240kwh (average month usage) Shell would charge £101.18 and EON £135.53. This isn’t including VAT.
