One thing is certain - Accenture, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL and many more companies helped millions of Indians move from a lower middle class financial status to an upper middle class and upper class status.
People with zero assets, no family background have built houses, given good education to their children, taken care of their families - All because they made good money.
People travelled abroad, saved well, roamed around, took their parents abroad to show them how developed world looks like. None of this would have happened without the advent of IT companies in India. One can hate them as much as they want but the IT companies built Modern India and Modern Indian homes🤩
Car buyers need a “Purist” variant.
Give me:
6 airbags.
ADAS.
360° camera.
Ventilated seats.
Good tyres.
Premium audio.
Alloys
But let me delete the panoramic sunroof, powered seats and third screen.
And reduce the price by ₹1–1.5 lakh.
Today, if you want the best safety and comfort features, you often have to buy the top variant including features you may not need.
Maharashtrian cuisine is having a middle child identity crisis, heavily influenced by Punjabi food from one side & South Indian food from the other. Our thalipeeth & bharli vangi are being edged off menus.
In few years paneer butter masala & benne dosa might be listed under Maharashtrian food. Don't laugh, we are halfway there.
We need a Vidyanand Bapat to save Maharashtrian cuisine from this culinary takeover!
South Central & South India have recieved very less rain this monsoon. Bright summer of 2027 ahead. Drought is likely. Tough times. Use water wisely 🙏
My fav rom-com of the year #BethlehemKudumbaUnit is now streaming on JioHotstar ❤️
PS: Please avoid watching the Hindi version and watch it in Malayalam.
Over the years, I’ve learnt this the hard way:
Long weekend → Stay home → Explore local places without the crazy traffic.
And when you actually want a vacation, take a day off and turn a normal weekend into a long weekend.
Better experience. Lesser crowds. More reasonable prices.
Sometimes, one day of leave can make a much better vacation.
Parents are not God. Stop treating them like one
India has somehow turned parenthood into divinity - ‘Maa-baap Bhagwan ka roop hote hain’ No they are not.
Becoming a parent is not an achievement. It is a biological process. Having a child does not suddenly make you intelligent, educated, wise or morally superior.
I have a friend I've known since childhood - I know exactly what kind of person he is. I know his habits, his stupidity, his flaws and the terrible decisions he has made.
He got married. Now he has a son. So what happened overnight? Did childbirth suddenly make him wise? Did becoming somebody's father upgrade his intelligence? Did all his flaws disappear? No.
He is exactly the same man. The only difference is that now there is a child who has been socially trained to believe that his father is somehow 'God'. That is absurd.
If you were immature before becoming a father, you are still immature after becoming a father. A baby does not arrive with a certificate of wisdom for the parents.
Parenthood gives you responsibility. It does not give you divinity. It does not give you unlimited authority over another human being. And it definitely does not make everything you say correct.
Then comes the classic emotional argument - If your parents hadn't given birth to you, you wouldn't even be here saying this. Correct. But you never asked to be born. Having a child was their decision, not yours.’
You wanted a family. You wanted children. You wanted your bloodline to continue. Whatever your reasons were, you made that decision. The child does not owe you lifelong obedience because of a decision you made before they even existed.
And this is where Indian parenting becomes deeply problematic. Too many parents don't raise children to become independent adults, they raise them like assets.
⚠️IMPORTANT THREAD⚠️:
I genuinely think people need to start paying attention to El Niño.
Like actually learn what it is, what it does and why this particular one is terrifying.
Because I don’t think most people realize what is happening right now. 1/13
Whatever I've seen of the Jamui video just breaks my heart. The audacity of men to do something like this in public with zero shame, or fear of consequences. Truly this is no country for women.
@Bankers_United people are crying about how they are usually treated at banks - especially PSUs. Also until private banks follow the principle that anything opened ONLINE should also be allowed to be closed ONLINE -- without bank visits, we have a RIGHT to cry!
A small query for @FinMinIndia@nsitharaman to ask bankers next week: Will working people need to take leave for all the banking functions that require physical visits to banks? Lockers, certain KYC updates, remittance-related issues, closing demant/ cards where banks have the habit of demanding physical presence? Plus follow-up for complaints. They are a service insutry like hotels -- will they agree to staggered holidays if they want to work 5 days?
@suritalreja Hello, the houseboat can get boring at night as they park the houseboat. You can instead opt for a day cruise and have lunch and evening tea in the houseboat.
There's a small window in life when your parents are healthy, your children are little, and everyone is happy and together. It feels like it will last forever, it won’t. Cherish every moment of it.
I’m a Jain, and I’ll say something many Jains won’t like:
I don’t support banning meat during Paryushan.
You chose Jainism. You chose the fasting. You chose the restrictions. You chose to give up things you enjoy for 8 days.
Why should someone who didn’t choose Jainism be forced to follow those restrictions?
Practise your religion so beautifully that people respect it.
Don’t legislate it onto their plates.
