I’m blown away that it appears over a half million people have opened and hopefully read this tweet, or maybe I’m misunderstanding the meaning of the 500, 000k number attached to the statistics attached to this post. I’ve never had any tweet nowhere close to this number read before. Grateful. Humbled. Honored. Thanks to all who’ve read it, and for your pro and con responses.
If you found out that one of your faith heroes/pastors met his wife when he was an adult pastoring her at camp when she was a minor and pursued her, would that effect the way you viewed them? Is this disqualifying? What do YOU do with that information?
@johnnarae There are so many churches that have pastors who dated high schoolers when they were youth pastors. It grosses me out and I don’t know how being “married” makes it ok.
If your misogyny is full of Bible verses, it’s still misogyny.
If your homophobia is full of Bible verses, it’s still homophobia.
If your racism is full of Bible verses, it’s still racism.
Stop using scripture to justify your violence.
