One of the most radical -- and reprehensible -- Obama policies was John Brennan's CIA drone assassination program based on the claimed right to eradicate anyone remotely suspected of terrorist ties: all with no process or evidentiary burden of any kind. Most of the time, they had no idea who they were killing, and we know they murdered large numbers of innocent people in multiple countries (including ones at wedding parties and funerals).
At least the Obama officials had the excuse -- frivolous though it was -- of acting under the authority of the "War on Terror." There is not even an arguable legal basis for blowing up small boats in international waters, which Trump and Hegseth have been doing for a year by invoking some vague "War on Drugs" theory. If you suspect these boats carry drugs, they're so easy to interdict with the Coast Guard (as @RandPaul notes, the Coast Guard often finds no drugs on boats they strongly suspect of carrying them).
I'm sure it's exciting for many to watch these grainy images of the mighty US military blowing up small boats and killing people, even when it turns out they're just ordinary fisherman. It provides some vicarious sense of power for those who feel powerless. But it's precisely this king of ongoing arrogant assertion of unilateral, unlimited global police power that alienates so much of the world (and has had literally no effect on drug demand or availability inside the US).
Whether it’s called a dictatorship, a monarchy, or a republic,
Whether the executive is a mayor, a governor, or a president,
Regardless of what the written law says,
GOVERNMENT is always just whatever those who are governed will let those who are in office get away with.
Trump promised he would drain the swamp, but now he’s joined it.
Adelson’s & Singer’s blood money for making war in Iran & Venezuela fund his intimidation and retribution campaigns at home against those who do fight the swamp, oppose big government, & reject foreign influence.
In an hour Congress will vote to hijack the budget reconciliation process, a tool for balancing the budget, and use it for a slush fund for the Iran War, and in the process add $130 billion to our debt.
We’ll see who’s conservative by the roll call vote. https://t.co/I6Mazu8yks
They'll ask you to condemn Hamas when your govt is sponsoring genocide in Gaza
Or to denounce the "Iranian regime" after your govt slaughters scores of schoolkids in Minab, and as it bombs Iran's bridges & ports
But when you flip the "regime" script on them, they end the show
Piers Morgan invited Max Blumenthal on to discuss his Iran reporting and the illegal seizure of his devices by the US govt, but spent much of his time questioning Blumenthal's "impartiality"
"I'm absolutely not impartial," Blumenthal explained. "I am not objective, and the concept of objectivity, as we understand it, is set out by the corporate media according to the parameters devised for them by their militant Zionist ruling class owners, who literally own the networks that you appear on."
Blumenthal then illustrated how Morgan manufactured consent for the US-Israeli war on Iran by promoting inflated death tolls and a false narrative of the Israeli and US-sponsored regime change riots that rocked Iran in January
Congress will be voting for the NDAA tomorrow which tie the U.S. military to Israel’s military.
Everyone that votes for it supports bombing children likes these poor little ones. And will guarantee our military intelligence helping them.
John Kiriakou served in the CIA for many years before they threw him in prison for telling the truth about what was really going on inside the organization. Everything he learned at the CIA and more is detailed in his new book. Get it at https://t.co/lEr6seLdYL.
Watch our report on Monika Silva, the Ecuador-based activist found murdered weeks after providing the US embassy in Quito with a file on President Daniel Noboa's narco links
Noboa's US-controlled government falsely claimed Silva committed suicide, when she died from blunt trauma and strangulation
Meanwhile, the left-wing mayor of Guayaquil, opposition leader Aquiles Alvarez, is rotting in prison after announcing on national TV his plans to expose those behind the drug trafficking operations in his city's ports
Silva's death demands an international investigation which delves fully into the Noboa Trading scandal she attempted to expose
Congress has blocked the amendment @RepThomasMassie and I introduced to stop the integration of our military with Israel’s. It is unconscionable to not even have a vote. We will be continuing on and will not be intimidated by the pro-Israel lobby.
