The golden day of Dera Sacha Sauda, when Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj received the Gurugaddi, stands as a pivotal moment in spiritual history. On February 28, 1960, the revered Beparwah Ji extended a heartfelt invitation to devotees from Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Haryana to gather at Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa. In accordance with the divine instructions of Satguru Ji, a majestic royal stage was set at the Dera. The Satsang hall was filled to the brim with devotees.

Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, with profound reverence, honored Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj by seating him beside him on the stage as his rightful spiritual successor.

Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, while declaring Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj as his true successor, respectfully made him sit beside him on the stage. He also honored him by putting garlands made of currency notes around his neck and then addressed the followers.

Revered Shah Mastana Ji, following the sacred traditions, performed the Gurugaddi ceremony, transferring the full rights and responsibilities of Dera Sacha Sauda to Shah Satnam Ji, sealing the divine transition.

When did the second Spiritual Master of Dera Sacha Sauda, His Holiness Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj, receive the Guru Mantra?

His Holiness Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj regularly attended the spiritual discourses of Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj for nearly three years, with a deep longing to receive the sacred Naam (method of meditation).

Many times, He sat in the queue, hoping to be blessed with Naam. But each time, Shah Mastana Ji would lovingly say, “The Almighty hasn’t given His command yet. Keep attending the satsangs.”

Finally, on March 14, 1954, during a spiritual gathering in the village of Ghukhanwali (Sirsa), His Holiness arrived with the revered Mata Ji. After the satsang, as Shah Mastana Ji was preparing to bless devotees with Naam, He spotted His Holiness standing on the platform.

Calling out in a powerful humble voice, He said:
“Harbans Singh! You too come inside and sit near me. Today, by the divine order of the Bestower Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj (Spiritual guru of Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj), you shall receive the sacred Naam.”
