As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign, a plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative was organised at FSD Cinnamara Depot Campus on 30 September 2026. The initiative focused on promoting greenery, environmental consciousness and sustainable practices.

The plantation drive reaffirmed the commitment towards a cleaner, greener and healthier environment, while encouraging collective participation in environmental conservation. 🌱🌿

The cleanliness drive focused on maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the historic tourist site, promoting responsible tourism, and strengthening the message of cleanliness and civic responsibility. The initiative also highlighted the importance of preserving heritage sites and public spaces for future generations.

🌿 9th Poshan Maah was celebrated on 25.09.2026 at 282 Ujoni Gozpuria Anganwadi Centre, Jalukanibari by the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Divisional Office, Jorhat, with a focus on promoting awareness about nutrition, healthy dietary practices and the importance of balanced food for children and the community.

The programme featured meaningful discussions and information exchange on nutrition, healthy eating habits and locally available nutritious foods. A hot and nutritious meal was also served to the little children and Anganwadi Karmis, highlighting the importance of adequate and wholesome nutrition during early childhood.

As part of the celebrations, a recipe competition was organised among the Anganwadi Karmis, showcasing traditional, locally inspired and nutritious recipes prepared using diverse ingredients and local greens. The competition provided an opportunity to promote creativity while emphasising the value of nutritious and locally available food.

🏆 Prizes were distributed to deserving participants in recognition of their enthusiastic participation and efforts.

The celebration reflected the collective commitment towards nutrition awareness, healthy food practices and the well-being of children and the community, in keeping with the objectives of Poshan Maah.

As on 11 August 2026, 24,627 Quintals of Rice have been released under OMSS to the District Administration of Jorhat, Golaghat, Sivasagar and Charaideo since the start of this ongoing deluge.

Chaired a review meeting at the Jorhat District Commissioner's Office today with officials from Housing and Urban Affairs, Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs and Cooperation departments to assess ongoing district initiatives :

​✅ Housing and Urban Affairs : Progress on municipal development, urban infrastructure and sanitation works.

​✅ Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs : Progress of 'Anna Sewa Din' and preparations for distributing subsidized dal and sugar starting 10th August. Directed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential items in flood-affected areas of Jorhat.

​✅ Cooperation : Operational efficiency, stock availability and distribution management of cooperative society godowns.

​Hon'ble MLA Shri Hitendra Nath Goswami, District Commissioner Shri Jay Shivani and departmental officials were present at the meeting.

🌾 Operation Anna Rahat continues to provide additional food security cover to the flood affected populace of Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar and Charaideo.
Till date, a total of 23,465 Quintals of Rice have been issued under OMSS to District Administrations of the aforementioned revenue districts.

Chaired a joint review meeting at the DC Office in Sivasagar with the Housing & Urban Affairs, Food Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs and Cooperation departments.

​Key highlights from the review are :

​✅ Directed officials to maintain uninterrupted food stocks, prevent artificial price hikes and stay closely connected with flood-hit citizens. Instructed swift and accurate assessment of all flood damages.

✅​ Reviewed the ongoing Anna Sewa Din and finalized preparations for distributing subsidized masoor dal and sugar starting August 10.

✅​ Evaluated urban drainage, sanitation and cooperative society operations.

​I was joined by Hon'ble Cabinet colleague Shri Sushanta Borgohain dangoriya and officials of concerned departments.

A team of volunteers from FCI Jorhat responded to a call for relief by around 15 families facing long-standing inundation near Katoni Gaon. The assistance was powered by the personal contributions of officials from local FCI units and other Divisional Offices like Tezpur, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar
