Judge Madlanga is a genius.
The moment Cyril Ramaphosa's spokesman announced that they will not be extending the Madlanga Commission, i knew immediately that Madlanga would do something strategic. Because I knew that he's a thinker and that he'd out-think Ramaphosa.

I just didn't know what he would do but I knew he would do something. And now I can see what Madlanga is doing.

Here is what I think the strategy was against Madlanga. That witnesses will play time wasting tactics. Play sick, call lawyers and tell long stories, basically waste time until Ramaphosa cuts the funding for Madlanga. I think this was the strategy.

And what is Madlanga doing to counter?
He no longer cares if you say you are sick. They now release your evidence to the public and analyse it at the commission without your involvement. Now they are flying in a speed that wasn't anticipated. By the time the funding is cut, damage will already be irreversible.

22-year-old learner Who Was Caught On Viral Video Assaulting 21-year-old student teacher during practical training has Been Charged with common Assault

A 22-year-old high school learner, Phemelo Mochoari, appeared in the Batho Magistrates’ Court in Bloemfontein on Friday, 12 June 2026, charged with common assault on a 21-year-old University of the Free State student teacher, Masego Mogorosi.

The incident occurred near Lekhulong Secondary School in Rocklands, where Mogorosi, a third-year Bachelor of Education student, was doing her teaching practicals. A video of the alleged assault went viral on social media, showing Mochoari attacking Mogorosi. The victim opened a case at Kagisanong police station.

Community members gathered outside the court in support of Mogorosi. Free State MEC for Community Safety Jabu Mbalula attended and backed calls for justice. Mochoari was released on warning after his first appearance.

The case was postponed to 15 July 2026 for further investigation. Mochoari is expected to return to the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on that date.
