Today, @NYCHousing released an RFP to develop a giant site on the Harlem River in Inwood. Looking forward to 500+ affordable units, riverfont open space, and a STEM center

@bern_hogan No, it is not OK to set rules and break them. What rules were broken here? Were there restrictions on 8 person gatherings in Aug 2020? Lots of people took tests and got together for dinners that summer. Whether they had sex w each other is just a racy detail
@bern_hogan Just rewatched and you're right- he says hotel party w 8 people was Aug 2020, b4 the vax. Wall street bank party he says was 1.5 yrs in. It is unseemly but also lots was happening in the city in Aug 2020, people were free to gather with no restrictions. Covid rates were very low
@bern_hogan I find this video and his vibe pretty gross. But city workers should be able to live their lives too. What rules was he breaking in summer 2021? In my memory the city was pretty open, folks had vaccines, etc.
Really disappointed in the Elizabeth St. Garden folks today.
We’re nearby to talk about our new public space & senior housing project & our staff was harassed & followed down the block: its okay to disagree with city policy—it’s never okay to harass hardworking public servants.
If an apartment were occupied for 6 years and then a tenant moves out and the landlord takes a few weeks to repaint and find a new tenant... that's ~1.4% vacancy for that unit. Not good, y'all. Not good.
For decades, the NYCHVS has collected data that tells the story of our city. The survey documents the challenges our neighbors have faced over the last half century, and reveals inequalities across NYC. The latest NYCHVS reveals a stark reality for NYers: https://t.co/ctw4YGzWoj
The “local veto” is a bug, not a feature. The 1989 Charter Revision Commission’s originals proposals didn’t include Council review of local rezonings at all!
Mayor Koch predicted at the time that the “local veto” would produce gridlock.

Another piece of the East Harlem Community Plan becomes reality. Community came together in 2015 and said we want housing here. City staff, together with the community, hosted visioning workshops to design the RFP, and now more people are moving in to this last phase.
New to Housing Connect: 276 affordable homes starting at $498 per month!
Sendero Verde's on-site amenities include an expansive landscaped courtyard, fitness room, computer & study lounge, rooftop terrace and much more: https://t.co/ZfKg7XCPnP
Not everyone needs or can afford a full apartment, and making that the only option leads to homelessness. NYC is going to open up more options next year through #CityofYes and #ShareNYC

From trash ➡️ treasure!
539 Jersey Street gives us a chance to reimagine the future of this @NYCSanitation site as #AffordableHousing w/ ground floors that could host a variety of uses for the community. We are now officially seeking proposals: https://t.co/BgwhFD5wfW
#AffordableHousing and community amenities are coming to Boerum Hill! 🎉
Last night, we were in the neighborhood with @CMShahanaHanif and @CMRestler to gather feedback on the future of two city-owned sites. Thank you to everyone who came out to voice their opinion!
@nychousing is out with @NYCWater@NYCMayor surveying new infrastructure and storm damage in the Jewel Streets. Tonight we'll be talking with residents about resiliency strategies and how to develop a 17 acre city site in the area.
We are losing housing in the most central neighborhoods of the region where apartments and houses are being combined into mansions. With one project we can bring more new housing to the Village than in the last 20 years, and it's 100% affordable
HPD shares the concern about a lack of affordable housing in every neighborhood, especially the West Village, where the overall housing stock has only grown by 20 homes in the last decade.
@SoBendito@zoningwonk@MarketUrbanism HPD registration numbers would come directly from the building owners registering annually with HPD. Why those would differ from PLUTO or tax rolls I am not sure but you could contact our Open Data team if you wanna dig further. https://t.co/ib1WZyGTS4
@GVSHP@NYCMayor@jmassengale@DeborahJGlick@SaveNYCNow@filmsbyAmy@scdemark@ChintzAge This is misinformation. 388 Hudson will be a 100% affordable project, developed on one of the last pieces of City-owned land in this area. It will help address the need for affordable housing in this neighborhood which has only grown by 20 homes in the last decade. 1/
Do you recognize this vacant lot at 388 Hudson St?
Good news: It’s going to be developed for 100% affordable housing. Potentially 100s of units.
Last night we kicked off the community planning process.
We need much more of this kind of project everywhere.
